To be fair, he got Birmingham promoted from this division (twice?) and won the league cup. But I agree, incredibly boring and defensive manager. Draw specialist.

No, he took them down twice and only up once and, as mentioned above, the league cup win was ruined by relegation. Hope he has a good start though as they are playing Palace tomorrow.

This is what happens when your owned by rich foreign owners who really don't have a clue and think that money can buy success, they've seen it at Chelsea and think they can do the same including sacking managers for no good reason.
We're lucky to have an Albion fan as Chairman who's realistic in what the club can achive at this moment in time and not some clown who's got himself a plaything because he's got fed up with fast cars & big yachts.
If you think that appointment is bad it maybe nothing compared to what Blackburn may do in the coming days, watch this space.

Villa have suffered from the Yank losing interest, haven't they?

More a case of Martin O'Neill spending all of his money on pretty average players and now he won't trust any of the subsequent managers to spend. Lbert needs money, immediately. Otherwise Lerner's investment will be lost forever with relegation.

McLeish is a joke appointment, awful manager and comes across as being boring, miserable and dour. He isn't the worst manager in the game, but they won't enjoy his reign too much. Like the McGhee years here. There were highlights, but generally really dull and uninspiring.

No chance of promotion for them now. What a ridiculous sacking and appointment. That's foreign owners who don't have an emotional connection to the club for you - thank goodness for Tony Bloom.

What he said!!!

Good result today , injury time equaliser against THE SCUM. The agency cleaners were busy with the bleach in the away end after the match as Palace fans had creamed their pants when they thought Judas had got them 3 points
