A bizarre sacking and a very shite appointment in theory. They will alienate the fans if they appoint Mcleish if they have not alienated them already.

I cannot believe it. How stupid can you get. They have actually appointed McLeish. Nuts. Utterly insane. They cannot have ever seen his teams

Wow, if ever anyone needed to be reminded that football is a rule unto itself, this appointment is it.

I can't work out if O'Driscoll would be peed off, that he'd be replaced by McLeish, of all people.

Or pretty chuffed that he's quickly got out of the asylum, with a big wodge of cash.

Looks like the more foreign owners the better. Anyone that would criticize our local born, Albion fan owner should have their head examined!

I don't know what I feel about this. I didn't realise mcleish was so poorly thought of. I knew he didn't do well at Villa, but he is a former premier league, and scottish premier league manager, whereas when I think of o'driscoll I think of him as a manager of bournemouth crawley and doncaster, so thought it can't be that bad an appointment. But then all the texts they're reading out on ssn from Forest fans seem to be upset with it, on here there seems to be disbelief that anyone would refer to his appointment as "decent", which isn't exactly getting carried away with praise.

Just heard this and having a couple of Forest supporting mates am Loving it! This is right up there with the appointment of the Wally with the Brolly. Yet another bunch of utterly clueless foreign owners doing a good job of blowing tons of cash!

It depends on how you look at his career. I really don't rate him but you could say he got Birmingham promoted to the Premier League and won the League Cup with them and also won the SPL and the cups with Rangers. However, the alternate side is that you have a 1 in 2 chance of winning the SPL when at Rangers, he took Birmingham down from the Premier League twice and was awful at Villa.

I was surprised that Forest sacked O'Driscoll and was even more shocked to hear McLeish got the job. Would be furious if I was a Forest fan now!

He has a disastrous record in England and his teams play shit boring football. I can't see any positives at all.

He may have won titles with Rangers but with their budget at the time so could you or I.

I think the problem that most Forest fans have is that they believe SOD had, despite some inconsistent results, had implemented a style of play that sits well with the ethos of their club. Whereas they think AM plays more long ball tactics. Either way, if he wins the first five games playing any style of football then he will be classed as a hero and the saviour. Fickle football fans, eh? Remember the uproar of West Ham fans when Big Sam took over? Didn't last long did it?!
