Our nation travelled the globe forcing 'multiculturism' down other countries throat, at the point of a bayonet in most cases. Some people in UK whinge because their sensibilities are hurt.

You didn't answer my question. What percentage of people that originate from outside Britain need to live in a place to make you consider it multicultural?

I'll respond to that when you explain what you think multicultural is.
The main parties, that are supported by people that like multiculturalism, didn't want the debate that you wanted. But there are parties that agree with you. Vote for them. That's your say. And if as many people as you suggest felt the same, a party that shares your beliefs would get in power.
The main parties also refuse to debate capital punshment, but polls have consistently shown a majority of the public in favour of it.

Can you provide a link to these polls?

So you haven't got an answer. You don't know how many people in central Hove originate from outside of Britain, and you don't really know how many it would need to be for it to be multicultural. I feel the city I live in is multicultural. The people in the flat above are from Italy, Spain and Poland. The people next door are Chinese. The people we know here are a mix of people from around the world. Maybe you think that's nice and it's not what you're referring to at all, because you seem to have a definition of multiculturalism that no one else is familiar with.

Trigaar...you missed muslims, and I think thats the point for Bushy...
Seriously, I have no idea what his point is. The people I mentioned may have been Muslims though, I didn't stipulate their religion.

Of course I can f***ing answer , I can walk round central hove all day and see that in no way whatsoever does it compare with somewhere like hackney where this sort of thing goes on : BBC News - Cane rat meat in Ridley Road Market ,
having people next door from china doesnt in any way qualify you to expound thge joys of multi culturalism to people whoi do live with it day in day out.

of course you dont

, compared to many, many places in england you live in an extremely monocultural place, in short , you dont know you're fuvcking born compared to what some people have to put up with.

:lolol: so your definition of multiculturalism is a place where people of foreign descent break the law. What is it that bothers you? If you don't like people breaking the law, then just say that, I'm sure many will agree with you. But your understanding of what is and isn't multiculturalism is way out.

I am definitely saying you dont live in a multicultural place, neither do i now i made the choice to leave , unfortunately many dont have that choice , and people like you, from hove telling them how they'd move to a multicultural city or country IF they had the choice , when you so clearly DO have the choice, are shown up as lacking conviction , as for voting for a party that espouses my views ? dont make me f***ing laugh, the mere suggestion that immigration needed to be debated was met with howls of racism from the parties and media with an interest in keeping the status quo.

As an aside I would like to let you know that I am moving back to Berlin in January; a multicultural city with approx the same percentage of Muslims as London and most of them will be right in my face and living in the central part of the city.

the areas you talk about may well be shit and people do have to put up with a lot in a lot of areas but these problems are not caused by multiculturalism. The problems you have with your foreign neighbours are a symptom of the problems in your area. There are many places around the world where people of different cultures can live together in relative harmony, there are many places where they cannot. You can go tit for tat with examples of each until the cows come home and it means nothing. What it does suggest is that their are other factors not based on culture that cause some places to be shit and some to be decent.

Thanks for the link. It says 'these days roughly half of the population support the death penalty for “standard” murder'. What's not clear is the exact question, and how sure we have to be that the person charged has committed the crime. Not that I care whether most people want it or not. The fact is, the first thing politicians want is to be elected. If they thought that they'd win an election by supporting the death penalty, they would. The fact that they don't bother suggests it's not much of a vote winner.

Permanently HT ?

At least a year. I'm not after praise, just acceptance that some of us do walk the talk unlike you would like to believe.
