why does London Irish get slated when he clearly talks sense?

LI makes much sense and very valid points. To some he seems to be patronising and condescending which is why he gets slated. That and for not being a 'proper' fan for supporting Brighton relatively late.

Guys, even if Mcghee said to GS, "look mate, we are skint, bid on Virgo, hes yours for 1 mill+" surely to god that is fantasic use of his "contacts"?!!! MM could have kept the club going with that one master stroke. Say we hadnt got the money and gone under i bet u lot would be slightly more pissed off about that than going down from a divsion we shouldnt have been in anyway?!

Just think chaps, we could have been left watching Worthing, Crawley or Eastbourne Borough instead...

I actually agree with a lot of what he says but his attitude (which has improved markedly) gets people's back up. If you had disagreed with any of his points in the past you would know.

It ultimately comes back to people having their point of view. Some of us do not see McGhee as the future of this club and struggle to back him. After last season he should have gone, but he has not, hence as I said, I will back the team but not the manager.

But the team is the manager's selections, is it not? I don't see how you can back the one and not the other.

Your situation is not exactly unique - there are players who I probably don't think are really up to the job of being first-teamers, but if McGhee picks them, I will still "back" them to prove me wrong.

I wasnt suggesting anything like that! :lolol:

But you know what i mean - if another manager was to make a bid do you think it would have got to that much?

:D But McGhee has no "contacts" - or so we are told :lolol:

You've caught the anti-McGhee'ers in a nice logic trap there - they either have to praise him for his skill at developing a player's value or praise him for his "contacts".

My guess is they'll pick the "silence" option

With all this (mass)debate is anyone's opinion gonna change? Surely opinions will only change with results on the pitch.

I don't think MM is a great manager, but not the worst either. No one has offered up asuitable replacement in the last year and I can't see any on the horizon so for now I say get behind him and judge him at Christmas.

I do not back the manager, but I am a Brighton fan. I do not think McGhee is the man to take this team forward and I do not think he has the skill to turn around the mess that he partly created last season, some of those gutless defeats are still very fresh and he put those sides out there.

As much as I want us to do well, if half a season of not doing brilliantly means that McGhee goes I will take that.

Oh sorry Westy I forgot to mention his rather gay and smug use of smilies.

The creepy obsessive's daily commentary on my character. Would you please stop following me around NSC like a puppy dog in desperate need of some petting?

Oh sorry once again Westy, he is also highly egotistical too.

Was I not posting on here before you today? So you are in fact following me just like you have done on a couple of threads recently.

Yea it seems the slience option has been the order of the day.

So LI uses smilies, who cares?! The lad talks sense.
Les Biehn seems to make valid points as well. MM is not Wenger, but he also not Jeff Wood. He showed he was good enough to get us out of this division b4 so lets see if he can do it again!

I agree if we are 5th bottom at Xmas AND there is someone else willing and good enough to replace him it may be the time. BUT lets hope it doesnt come 2 that and we start well and keep the ball rolling.

Well, you're in a very fortunate position - many of us don't have an obvious consolation prize lined up!
