FFS! He's played 22 times this season for the runaway Prem Champions, World Club Champions, he's been injury'free for 2 years and he's joined us for free.

Even on 90K a week over 3 years he'll cost us under £15mill. Compare that to Ali J or Locadia's transfer fee and wages.

Briliant business by the club. Fortunately I think most fans get this.

This. If spence is against it, then it must be a good deal.

I’m not afraid to admit to change my opinion. One of the few here it seems.

It’s actually a sign of intelligence to re-evaluate ones position as new information is considered.

You think once someone has an opinion they should dogmatically adhere to it forever and that’s it? How backward.

Great Signing.loads of top level experience.great style and teqnique.can score goals.i think what he brings off the pitch is priceless in that he can pass on some of his knowledge to the youngsters but most importantly potter has a player in his squad who knows EXACTLY how potter wants us to play.also he reminds me a bit of Buckley and I miss Buckley so I'm happy now.very exciting signing for us.

As the Scouse bloke says i would rather sign young hungry players. Lallana has hardly kicked a ball and at 32 with a contract until 35 i think the club has made a big mistake.

I'm just glad no fee was involved. Doesn't matter how you spin it this signing worries me.

With respect, you anointed Potter a disaster and promised us relegation.

Also, I couldn’t give a monkey’s what the resident Liverpool fan thinks to be honest, he’s judging Lallana for not being able to get into a team ahead of Mane, Salah, Firmino, Henderson, Fabinho, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Keita. Liverpool harvest these young kids and they can spend years learning from this elite players, who are our elite players? How much can Alzate and Bissouma learn from Groß and Mooy? We buy youth but they go into the team, we need to complement that with some proper PL quality. If Lallana is surrounded by a vibrant core of Alzate, Bissouma and Trossard he’s not going to have to run a marathon every game.

What do you pull your willy off to? Just wondering if you can actually have a good thought in your head or are you even critical of your imagination?

Had we made this move with Hughton in charge he’d be knocking one out over this Singing

Lots of muppets on here who were not happy about Hughton joining as manager. Who was the first on here to get excited?

Of course we won't talk about that. Doesn't fit your narrative :lolol:

i'm calling bullshit; you, get excited, about hughts :lolol::lolol::lolol:

Welcome to the club Adam I hope it works out for you and the team

TB GP DA I do hope he's no Billy big b******s as we don't want or need that, nor do we want to go back to the Albion of the past when players past their prime moved down for an easy couple of seasons by the sea.

He has been a really good player with some time out through injuries but in his interviews he does appear humble so like I said welcome Adam #Together

Jeez. We’ve signed Adam Lallana and some are picking holes in it.
Maybe they’ve forgotten the days when We pinned our hopes on Stafford Browne.
What is the point of being a football fan if you can’t get excited about signing someone of this calibre?

Lallana has made a total of 54 appearances in all competitions in the last three seasons.
He was a very average “Nice guy” at LFC. Forget the sales blurb, he’s 32 on an estimated 90k(?) a week on a three year contract.
Congratulations to the lads agent, but this is an awful signing for Brighton.
If he had joined a top ten team he would have looked half decent for 10 games a season. We need him to be playing 30 odd games a season at the bottom end of the table.
I just think we would have been far better sifting out some of the younger players who GP could have moulded, much in the way that JK has done.

I don’t think you’re the seeing the bigger picture old boy. I’m not being a happy clapper, as I actually had a similar opinion at first.

Lallana is not being brought into the club to play 30-odd games a season and being an ever present on the team sheet. If that’s the criteria. Then yes, this transfer is poor business.

However.

Read between the lines at what has been subtly said by the narrative of the club.

We have an extremely exciting but young nucleus of the club coming through. We have a manager and Dan Ashworth who are focusing on coaching, bringing on and improving young players.

Lallana. By every single account I have read from Liverpool was an exceptional influence behind the scenes and -ding ding- to the younger players at the club.

What better pro, role model, figurehead, and successful winning elite player could we bring to the club to help guide our young players.

He has won everything in the game. It also raises our profile. Look at the reaction from Ben White. I suspect this will inspire all of our young players.

This. If spence is against it, then it must be a good deal.

It's certainly having me reassess my opinion.

When you're as consistently wrong as spence is, it's tough not re-evaluate my original apathy.

He'll get regular game time at Brighton which will help him. Sure he won't start every game though. (I doubt he'll get picked for Burnley away, but probably the home games where we need quality to break teams down ( eg the Newcastle game recently). We aren't a team of aging players and so we don't need him to be chasing shadows every game. We will benefit from his experience and guile.
Cahill at Palace has been a decent signing for them, and I think Lallana can be for us.
My Man City supporting brother in law stated that he thought it was a good signing for us.
My take is that it's a statement of intent and will have the benefit of making the players like Lamptey, White and Maupay think that they are at the right club.

I have been saying this. Simply doesn't do it for me. His stats for the last few years are shocking. Myself i cannot wet my pants like most on here over this signing.
I'm hoping he can stay free from injury. Massive chunk eaten into our budget on a player way past his best.

Lol. You think Tony Bloom would sanction this move merely to be a 30 odd game a season vet and that’s it? How small picture.

I really can’t believe that on the evening where we make one of our most high profile signings of the modern era I dip in to make myself feel happy and find....

A Spence based binfest.

Why not think about what he could bring, could contribute, who else he could attract etc.

Try being positive, you might even enjoy it!

The usual clueless cockgobblers that are shitting on this signing.

It's a statement of intent that we are serious about staying here and that we can sell the project to him speaks volumes.

Are you actually aware of our squad ages? .You do know we have quite a few players in there late 20's with at least 3 Premier league seasons under their belts.

We do need a wide player most definitely but Lallana was the wrong choice.

And how many of those experienced pros are serial winners? Elite players who have played in the very level of the game. For England, at a WC, in a Champions League for the European Champions for one of the biggest clubs in the world?

We all love Dale and Glenn. But sorry, this is a very different level of player who can inspire and instil a winning mentality to our young talent.

I can't say that I am totally over the moon with this one.

Seems a bit of an odd one to me, but I trust that Potter and Ashworth feel it's going to add value to next year's squad, then I'll go along with it.

Undeniably it's a step up from our usual level of signing. But hopefully this is a special case, rather than the start of a trend.

No need to end up all Palacey about it all.
