Norwich had a squad of young hungry players, didn’t do them very well. I’d say Lallana is hungry with the lack of game time he’s probably had. I trust Bloom, Barber, Ashworth & Potter on this one as we have definitely lacked some experience.

What did you think of Upson & Bridge as soon as we signed them out of interest ?

Again you need to research your facts. Norwich spent less than 5 million to compete in the Premier league. Utterly patheic and that gave Farke no chance in hell.

He had no chance but use kids. We are not in the same boat as them

As the Scouse bloke says i would rather sign young hungry players. Lallana has hardly kicked a ball and at 32 with a contract until 35 i think the club has made a big mistake.

I'm just glad no fee was involved. Doesn't matter how you spin it this signing worries me.

What do you pull your willy off to? Just wondering if you can actually have a good thought in your head or are you even critical of your imagination?

I’m not being negative I hope I’m wrong. I just feel we should be searching out the Lampteys’s of this world.
Truth is he joined us because we were prepared to give him a three year contract. He will be 35, a millionaire and can get his badges and possibly get into our back room set-up in a lovely part of the world close to where he was brought up.
It’s an amazing deal for him, just not a great one for the club IMO.

You thought hiring Potter was a big mistake and look how that turned out

I have been saying this. Simply doesn't do it for me. His stats for the last few years are shocking. Myself i cannot wet my pants like most on here over this signing.
I'm hoping he can stay free from injury. Massive chunk eaten into our budget on a player way past his best.

football's not really your thing tho', is it spence?

You don't think there needs to be a balance? Just young players nothing else?
Are you actually aware of our squad ages? .You do know we have quite a few players in there late 20's with at least 3 Premier league seasons under their belts.

We do need a wide player most definitely but Lallana was the wrong choice.

Lallana has made a total of 54 appearances in all competitions in the last three seasons.
He was a very average “Nice guy” at LFC. Forget the sales blurb, he’s 32 on an estimated 90k(?) a week on a three year contract.
Congratulations to the lads agent, but this is an awful signing for Brighton.
If he had joined a top ten team he would have looked half decent for 10 games a season. We need him to be playing 30 odd games a season at the bottom end of the table.
I just think we would have been far better sifting out some of the younger players who GP could have moulded, much in the way that JK has done.

Completely different observations than my Liverpool friends from er Liverpool.

You forgot to answer the bit about Upson / Bridge.

Either way time well tell, far too early to make comment

I'm very aware we have a young squad with Ben White and Jason Molumby joining the first team squad next season. Young players that need guidance on and off the field

Could add both European and Supercup to that list. I have watched about every game LFC have played for years so please don’t tell me how good he was at Liverpool. At Brighton he will asked to perform under different conditions and expectations. He is a very emotional young lad who can get easily bullied.
I honestly do not think it’s brilliant business but only time will tell.
By the way, bringing up AJ Ann’s Locardia just highlights some other poor decisions and do not really support your argument.

It totally does support my point because the money we've wasted on Ali J and Locadia is the sort of money pretty much every Prem side wasted on "hungry" players. Lallana is a proven, class act, he fills a gaping hole linking midfield to attack and he can finish. Other clubs must be kicking themselves missing out on him on a free.

I think this is evidence the club is growing up in it's recruitment policy. Persuading the likes of Lamptey and Lallana to come here - both at different ends of their careers - is an achievement for our club, and acquiring experience when we are likely to lose Duffy makes sense.

Wow, you honestly must be the only Albion fan in the world who is concerned by this signing.

You also thought the club made a mistake signing Potter. How many times can you be wrong?

It's not to early to comment. It's a forum of opinions. People are right to express concern or whatever they choose to do.

Lots of muppets on here who were not happy about Hughton joining as manager. Who was the first on here to get excited?

Of course we won't talk about that. Doesn't fit your narrative :lolol:

Jeez. We’ve signed Adam Lallana and some are picking holes in it.
Maybe they’ve forgotten the days when We pinned our hopes on Stafford Browne.
What is the point of being a football fan if you can’t get excited about signing someone of this calibre?
