PPS Have just re-read my post and didn't make it clear that I was very disappointed in El Abd, but it did look as if he was giving it back to one particular abuser in the south stand, he just seemed to lose it.
Once again my hard earned money on a season ticket to be called names by the players or a third of the amount on the double winners and beer at the match at the County Ground? My Dad already not renewing this is gonna be bad.

In short it had two pages referring to the CPRE stating that football fans are riff- raff, social pariahs and rowdy troublemakers in their defence of Falmer.

So you think its fine for people to boo players and to shout insults at them (albeit not directly)? Surely if you give it out then you have to expect to get it back.

Come on mate that's a simple fact of life and you dont have to be at a football game to realise that.

Not sure why you think I have a chip on my shoulder - that bit baffles me.
So having paid £24+, you think fans are NOT entitled to voice their opinion after a match ? Should we all just applaude politely at the final whistle, regardless of result or performance ?

If the team plays well and achieves a decent result, the players are quick enough to lap up the adulation from the stands - well it cuts both ways. If we play garbage and get beaten by a bunch of northern losers who find themselves in the bottom three because they are regularly stuffed every other week by all and sundry, then I don't see how they can expect to be applauded off. ESPECIALLY after the shite we've had served up in the last three home games, and regularly thoughout the season.

Perhaps this needs explaining to "Bomber".

I am not defending Bomber, but we don't know why he lost the plot after the game. I am more pissed off with him for the dying swan routine he has performed on a few occasions this season. Far a so called hardman he goes down easier and quicker than a £5 hooker in an LDC council meeting.

If it was for the general booing then he is out of order, but if someone said somthing personal then he is entitled to say something back. Having seen him play for a few seasons, "Stable", "Mature" and "Reasoned" are not words that come to mind when assessing his mental state.

I don,t remember saying anywhere that I "think it,s fine for people to boo players"......but I certainly don,t think it,s fine for a team being booed, for one of the players to call the paying supporters "F*****g C**T,s. You obviously do....nothing more to argue about then.

From what I gather the boos at the final whistle were not aimed at El-Abd but at the team as a whole, what gives him the belief that he can gesture and swear at the loyal fans the way that he did. He was aiming his insults at all of us, not just at a select few. I was not one of the people booing and I take umbrage at the actions of El-Abd, especial as he put in such a poor performance. People were fully entitled to express their views. I wait with interest to hear what the club have to say on this matter as it may well have an impact on whether I renew or not.

No, if you pay your money mate then feel free to have a go but surely youve got to expect some abuse back.

As has been stated elsewhere, nobody was singling El Abd out for abuse. It was the usual grumbling boo's to (yet another) limp defeat at home and sub-standard performance from the players. So no, under those circumstances, I do NOT expect one of those players to start chucking me a "wanker" sign and calling me a f***ing c unt for voicing my displeasure at the TURD they'd just served up.

Just back from the match, should have watched the mighty Macclesfield instead. petrol, a match ticket and a bacon sandwich cost me about £80 today, and from the look the wife gave me when I arrived home I am not going to have any rumpo tonight.

I had a moan at the end of the match, like a lot of others. El Abd is a silly boy, let's keep it in perspective, we know he is never going to by Mother Theresa.

What I though was out of order was the bloke having a pop at Zesh and Jake when the players were warming up. If you really think they are wankers mate, don't turn up.

I'm with you here.

Remember in Euro 2000, Beckham got slaughtered for swearing at his own 'supporters', depsite the fact that he was told (something along the lines of) that his wife was a whore and they hoped his son died of cancer.

Well, in this case all that has happened is the team being booed off after yet another piss poor display. Nobody slated him, and even if one person did insult El-abd, there's still need to walk along the stand shouting at various blocks -i couldn't hear what he was shouting (although i could see he was), and i didn't see a wanker gesture, but i can believe it. He had to be restrained by team mates. That's not on

But it was aimed at the team he was playing in. As already mentioned I wasnt there today so maybe Im a bit off the mark but from what Ive heard Adam played with 110% effort today and must have been royaly pissed off at losing. So to receive boo's albeit indirectly must have been the last straw.

Well I was there and the team did not all play with 110%. The boos were aimed at the team and the performance as a whole. I was royally pissed off at the way El-Abd gestured towards me when my only offence was to stand patiently in the stands waiting to leave the ground.

Sorry, but aside from a couple of brief flurries, it WAS piss poor. And as for not scoring - thats pretty much the norm nowadays at Withdean, so surely its understandable that a lot of fans are getting macked off with the home performances. All we've done is "not score" in most of the bloody games.

the trouble is guy, it was not the manner in which we "didnt scoree" it was the appearance that if we would still be playing now, we woul;dnt have scored!

You must see the frustration of the fans....when we are being asked for £400 odd squids for next year when we have scored precisely 3 goals at home since Christmas and havent scored in the last three against sides who have habitually let in goals....we scored 3 at Hudds, and two(?) at bradford...in my eyes we have gone backwards.

Whilst we are at it, what reason did wilkins give for you going off? That was rediculous.....he could have taken loft off, pushed Zesh into midfield and left you and the two full backs as a three man defence.....everyone around us agreed that this would have been better!
