Would be a good move for all concerned, would rather a loan because the lad could yet come good and it’d be a pittance fee for a transfer anyway. Wishing him all the best - if he knocks in 25+ goals give him a look again next pre-season.

Isn’t he out of contract next summer? If this happens this summer it’ll be announced as undisclosed but it’s actually a free transfer.

Good luck to him but a player less suited to living in a foreign country I am struggling to think of. I hope he does brilliantly but it all seems a bit risky to me.

Maybe that’s the point. Last chance saloon, grow up or get out. Different country without the drinking culture we have here. Makes sense to me.

Exactly my first thoughts too! Someone else posted abour 'a new culture' for him - I think it was the word 'culture' that bothered me!

He’s experienced Middlesboro, not his first rodeo

Sink or swim.

It really is. If he goes there on a permanent deal and doesnt score many goals then he'll be lost bench warming in an obscure league. Go there on a season loan and not score many goals and it'll be a very short queue of small teams wanting to take him from us next summer, if anyone. Running out of opportunities to show he has what it takes. He's still young and I want him to succeed but I would fear for his career if he opts for a spell in Serie B and it doesnt go well. Its not like its a league with much coverage to show if his general play is good albeit with poor goal/assist stats. He simply needs to go somewhere and bang in some goals.

Since it’s not clear if loan or sale, could it not be one of the weird loan now and if some target is hit be it personal or team then they are committed to buying him? Love to see him go there, never play but they have to buy him when they get promoted ala Fulham with Knocky
