A team to get us promoted and drool over. Could it happen?

My opinion is we will be in league one for the first season at Falmer and will mount a serious challenge for promotion that season. We will be in the Championship within 2-3 years of starting at Falmer, consolidate and consider a push for the premiership in years 5-7.

I agree with you about only seriously challenging for promotion during our first year at Falmer. Not sure how long till we are pushing for promotion to the Premiership though. Too far away to be guestimating that one as so much can/will change in the next 5 years.

This season I think we have a chance of nicking a playoff spot and would be pleasantly surprised with anything extra.

Well, we were EXTREMELY impressive on Sat, but looked like we couldn't score in a brothel, and that was using 4-5-1... we made about 5/6 great chances and failed to take all but one worldy from EB...

Put it like this, we need another striker more than we need another wide player, IMHO...

To be fair our main striker was only on the pitch for THIRTEEN minutes...

Our team looks strong, but not one to drool over. A team to drool over is a team where fans of other teams have heard of the players and fear them.

I dont think we have any of them YET (maybe Bennett, possibly Murray) and at the moment only they are only great in our Brighton blinkered views, but not to the rest of the League One world. I am not saying we are rubbish by any means, but as they are relatively unheard of, it may work massively in our favour in our push for promotion.

True. I'm not sure any club fears Murray (Saints aside perhaps). I think Bennett's reputation is spreading, but other than that no other fans are going to look at our starting XI and think "oh shit, we're in for a pasting today".

I have never said that we are going to walk this league and to be honest most people on here say that we are hoping for a play off place at best.

I am "laying into you" as you put it (although I would say debating with) because we don't need such blatant negativity at this stage and you have absolutely no basis for saying that we are nowhere near good enough. My basis is we had a good second half of last season and have, in my view, strengthened since then. This leads me to believe we will be very close to a top six place and hopefully will be in the play offs.

Finally, you are suddenly very defensive without really answering any of my questions. You are accusing me of jumping the gun by saying we have a good squad before a game has been played yet you are writing off the squad at the same time. Also, I can read so you don't need to use capital letters to shout certain words.

You say very close to a top 6 and I say 9th but I am being negative , how does that work then ?.

Spot on Brett and what I am saying basically.

I'm pretty sure that Our Glenn keeps Wycombe fans awake at night.
