To be fair mate, there's no doubting that Brezovan is a decent shot stopper, but his communication, catching and kicking is awful. Of course he is always prone to a mistake, he may have cut some of that out but I have seen a few mistakes from him in a Brighton shirt already. I don't think we would have done anywhere near as well as we did last season with him in goal, he just doesn't inspire any confidence in his defenders.

Greer is a good signing for you lot, type of defender teams need at the back at this level to be a success. Great captain but you will need a quality player alongside him.

Is Murray a 25 goal a season man? It's fair to say every team looking for promotion needs one of them, he might turn decent ala Billy Paynter but I'm just not sure why some Brighton fans think your nailed on for a play off place.

Navarro is nothing special, compare him to other midfielders of the main teams in this league and it's fairly laughable that he is in your side when you are going for promotion really.

Since Brez has been in goal i have been confident as he controls his area well and makes himself known from corners, crosses and freekicks. And Navarro suites us well as he is level headed and can pick a pass from anywhere on the pitch, a player that most teams would be happy to have in their squad.

We will finish 9th. Our squad is nowhere near good enough for a serious promotion challenge.

What sort of players do you think League One sides should have? It sounds like we have a very good midfield with fantastic back up. A good first choice defence and one or two back ups although possibly could do with one more. A good first choice keeper and we don't really know how good the backup is. Finally, two decent strikers so to say we are nowhere near good enough is ridiculous. How strong do you think teams in the top six are? I think we are one short of a top six team, e.g. a new striker, but three more would be ideal. However, even with the current squad I think we could challenge for the top six, or was our form in the second half of last season a freak?

I agree. Yesterday Barnes was up front on his own, did well and pulled his marker around, opening up space for the midfield who bombed forward for fun.

What was also impressive was that when we lost the ball, which was rare, pressure was immediately put on the player in posession to stop them creating anything. We seem to be so well organised and everybody knows their job, can't remember when I could last say that. That's why we can be optimistic, this Gus fella knows what he is doing

Agree the performance was impressive, but you are overlooking the obvious point that we should have scored 3 or 4, but didn't... we OBVIOUSLY need a top striker...

You obviously didnt watch our midfield yesterday. That is the best midfield combination that we have had for a few seasons and with Kishishevs undoubted class and the ability to play simple balls accurately plus the heart and engine of Sparrow they will provide the front men. whoever they may be, with goalscoring opportunities. I think that we are easily capable of reaching the play offs and with that elusive 25 goals a season striker automatic. Mind you a few f..k ups and we could just as easily lose matches and be in trouble but I am sure that Poyet is going along the right road and knows exactly what he wants and how we will play. Any body who doesnt conform will be shipped out.

Spot on BG... 100% agree...

Really don't think Gus will play 442. Whatever striker he may sign. 451 all the way

Gus said in his interview after the sunderland game that he was trying to get 2 strikers on the pitch as often as possible.

it would appear that his preferred formation is a 4-4-2 hence the pursuit of lualua.

I think we are only a striker away from a very good squad although I do think murray and Barnes can score us in excess of 40 goals between them

This is the beginning of something beautiful. With GP, MT & support from TB we are witnessing the beginning of a bright new era which will see us into the Premiership within 4 seasons max. GP will go nowhere as he has been given the dream task of building a club in his own mould. We are very lucky to be in such a great position after all the years we have had to endure ( although there have been some highlights along the way )

This is the dream we have all been dreaming & I know I might be a tad optimistic because it's the start of a new season but we have never had so much to look forward to since the Mullery era & I am going to f***ing enjoy it.

Falmer here we come, League 1 here we come, Old Trafford, Anfield, Emirates here we come, Crystal Palarse there we go.

You honestly think Barnes and Murray can score at least 20 each ? I think Barnes may get up to 10/15 depending on what striker we bring in. Murray will have his best season this year.

"A team" to get us promoted.

If you need promotion and nobody else can help and if you can find them, maybe you can hire BHAFC

Still need 7 more players tho

We had one of the " best squads " last season and were 21st after 17 games. Most of our players are freebies and unknowns. We do not have a single player any football fan across the country would particularly recognise or rate. There has been very little money spent so why do you think it is so good.

I though he already said he wants to play 2 strikers!?

Sorry wasn't aware he'd said that. I still prefer the 451 to be honest and think that'll be used a lot, especially away from home.

Our players look comfortable and settled in 451 in my opinion.

Did you not see the second half of last season. Taking points from the second half of the season we came fifth, so what has changed? We have lost Crofts and Lua Lua (who will hopefully sign again this week) but other players like Virgo and Forster barely played in the second half of last season. We have signed the likes of Sparrow, Greer, Kishishev as well as getting Painter and Barnes to sign permanently. What players were you expecting us to sign who were household names? How many players recognised by football fans across the country did Millwall and Norwich have last year. Not spending money is a sign of Gus' shrewdness in the transfer market, I bet if we had spent big money on Sparrow you would be raving about him.

I think we've got a very strong first 16 but the next 8 or so places worry me. Have we got enough back-up in each position in case of injuries?

Goalkeeper - possibly

Left back - no
Centre backs - yes
Right back - yes

Centre mids - yes
Right mid - possibly
Left mid - no

Striker - no

Right now I feel ok about keeper
Left back is defintaely a problem although maybe Kishishev can play there?
Centre back worries me... weve got Tunni, Cook and El Abd but there are all cover which puts a lot of pressure on Elphick
Left mid.... Jamie Smith maybe.... Chino?
Striker - definately not, especially if we want to play two up front.

That's what i thought too. Also there always seemed to be an outlet pass and someone always wanting the ball. Very few mistakes made.
