I don't think it's that offensive and for LI to link a joke with attacks on Muslims is frankly, ludicrous.

Those of you who keep labeling every person who finds this worrying or objectionable as the PC Brigade (I note you all nicely ignored his point about my love of teen porn - anyone who actually knows me knows I'm about as PC as Bernard Manning) are doing no different to the Islamic fundamentalists who label every Westerner as the Christian Infidel, missing the point entirely, and hence are fair game. It is a joke, whether you think its funny or not is irrelevant. It probably isn't the funniest joke every thought up, but it is a joke. Mockery. Having a jibe at the way people dress/or speak/or act. People take the mickey and forge stereotypes about every other nationality and religion.. why should muslims be immune from it? Because if you do push it they threaten violence? Well thats just wrong. You speak of the importance of a "distinction between being muslim and being a supporter of Islamic fundamentalism" The joke is about Muslims, not Islamic fundamentalism..its about a topical subject. You seem to serve round the subject and read into deep seated racism.. it's nonsense. I'm glad the majority on here agree with me. I rather doubt people haven't posted their objections because they're afraid of being labeled PC.. if they are it just goes to outline how brave you are to stand up against the racism spitting all white 'right wing scum' of North Stand Chat - and I salute you.

Going back to the original joke there is no mention of fundamentalism or terroism etc, if people make the loose connection, then that has more to do with there lack of intelligence than the original context of the joke.

I hear and get texted far worse and offensive jokes than this one often so I think there may have been a bit of an over-reaction all round, from myself and those who've jumped on me for speaking out. I just find the context of these glut of jokes worrying and I'll continue to say so.
