A (fake internet) Australian view of immigration

There is an interesting series on in Australia at the moment called Dumb Drunk and Racist. Anyone interested in the stuff should take a look if they get the chance.

To my mind it has gone out of it's way to find racism in Australia but if you can look past this it is very interesting. Especially the one on now which is looking at the way aboriginals have been and are still treated.

it will also show the way they react to the camera crew and the indians in tow......what it will not show is the countless droves of the fuckers that hang around late night drinking venues , picking off pissed up punters and battering them stupid before relieving them of their wallets / phones and shoes.......i am talking specifically about Perth here .......they are not nice chaps once they have a skin full and much more violent than most of you on here have ever experienced.........i reckon 150 of 'em would run just about any "firm"you put in front of em.....fact.

A horrific symptom of being treated hidiously for 200 years. Our nation needs to take serious steps to heal the rift between us and the true owners of Australia. Maybe we can improve the kinds of situations you describe and make the counrty better for all Australians.

It is ironic that so many of us preach respect for the native people of a country. Urging immigrants to respect the culture and learn the language etc etc. When we have done the exact opposite, and continue to do the exact opposite to the Aboriginies.

I agree with your feelings about the working classes in Britain. I just think you are fighting the wrong enemy!

Immigration is not the problem in the UK, it most certainly was for the Aborigines but lets leave that for another thread, there will be one along soon Hope you are well Bushy.

i don't.........i take each person as i find them ,if they are gracious and welcoming then so am i , if they are an obnoxious , paralytic ****.........i will avoid them ........if they still get in my face , i will knock them out ...end of.

As an Englishman living in Czech Republic, I have absolutely no intention of learning the Czech language, particularly at my age.

As I said previously, thats fine as long as you dont expect a translation of official documents, its a pity Crawley Council didnt tell this clown where to go .

Thats idiotic isnt it, especially as most people dont even bother reading the English version. Would have thought there would be some sort of processes in place for this sort of thing. Theres a sizeable asian community there, so im sure there are community centers that would translate anything like that anyway if needed.

I totally agree, if people want to live here they should learn english, without exception, its divisive and encourages ghettoisation for councils to make it easy for people to get by without speaking english.

Ive seen plenty of official documents whilst working in Europe that come in English as well. I realise that English is the Intl business language, but ive seen them, but there are community resources for people that would do that sort of translation, and a lot bloody cheaper I would imagine.
