The exchange is not available for all matches for example Fulham . Villa not yet on as I would buy ticket for a friend near my seat but can't.
I wonder if they opened the exchange 48 hours before whether the extra they might make in beer / burger / merch sales outstrip the lost revenue from seat sales.

If I was at the club I would definitely want to do a test with one of the stands and open them up early and compare the sales for a similar match.

I’ve had a couple of occasions where the exchange not opening has resulted in people not joining me. To counter, I wonder how many people put tickets on exchange, don’t sell but then make a late decision to go.

If you can afford the direct debit then you could afford a standing order into a high interest regular savings account. And why would anybody expect to pay interest to the club when you are in effect paying months in advance for any named game?
Plenty of other clubs not only charge interest but also extra fees for the privilege of allowing you to pay by monthly instalments.
Something i have not seen discussed on this thread is that, with no waiting list, if not a lot of albion+ members or others take up the unrenewed 7% of season tickets then there will be more for the club to shift before the exchange will open. This will probably mean that there will be a reduced chance of selling a listed ticket.
Apologies if this has already been mentioned and i have missed it.
It’s Very unlikely that season tickets won’t sell out. There’s no “waiting list”but tickets are offered in windows to A+ members who ve attended most matches first before going on general sale.

As discussed many times, I'm fairly sure the club's first priority is to sell the maximum number of (unique) seats, as recorded for attendance purposes, used for commerical etc.

Well ofc . they want to sell out. And they’ve pretty much sold out every game this season. Now shifting exchange tickets, let alone encouraging/nudging ST holders to always attend - especially for evening games is another matter. - hence I guess the new stricter rules around non attendance. (As there are multiple commercial/atmosphere benefits - even when the tickets are sold out - from having a full ground)

Would there be some logic in making ST points conditional upon personally using your ST?
Would that massively impact the LP tiers anyway ? Suspect the very vast majority in T1/2 at least rarely miss home games anyway. Aside from being far more complex (Barbs might like the idea of another 2 pages in the T&Cs explaining how the points are managed obviously) not sure it would make and difference.

Would probably only make a marginal difference, but might tip the balance for a few people. I think you might be underestimating the number of T1/2 supporters who miss a fair number of home games.

I very much doubt there are many at all, but if they’re T1 it still wouldn’t make a difference at all anyway - given a year’s season ticket only amounts to less than 20 points (200 after 10 years isn’t it ?), by definition they’re already going to a large number of away games. Away points make up way more than half my total and I don’t do all of them. I’m on the edge of T1 without the ST 200 points.

I randomly had a look at Everton.

They promote a payment plan - but ... "Please be aware, if you decide to select this option, a facility fee applies per transaction and will be added to the cost of your Season Ticket purchase".

Not only that -they do it by way of finance through a company called Premium Credit Limited and it involves an application and credit search. So I assume not everyone will qualify.

Haha sounds great!

My two girls only have a passing interest in the footie, although it's definitely building. Sadly we're not quite into season ticket territory yet.

The water is further muddied by the wife actively WANTING to spend time with me, which all things considered, is probably a good thing :D
You need to be like me. Nice enough that she wants to be with me, but sufficiently annoying that she also relishes some down time. It’s been a tight rope at times but I think I have perfected it.

And Liverpool ... again it's on finance and you have to provide 3 years addresses, employment details etc. And they charge a fee resulting in an APR of 18.67%

I think what you should have written is "Nice enough that she tolerates me". That's certainly the case with me and Mrs DCH

As per Everton and @PascalGroß Tips

Liverpool - there's an arrangement fee

Spurs also offer arrangement fee

Villa also do it via V12 finance - there's a fee and its over 8 months

Albion are the only, i think , club who offer the direct debits themselves via no third party over 12 months. And its fee and interest free.
