I have my answer, but I remember a thread a while ago and that there is a system called BODMAS or something that you use to work out equations and will give a different answer to what I think it is.

However, I'm only 33 and did quite well at maths at school but I don't remember bodmas at all.

Surely you remember order of operation? (or operator precedence), bodmas is just the current term for it so youngsters will know it as that and us oldies as order of operation etc.
