I’d have absolutely lost my head if a Brighton player had done what Colwill did in the build up to our third goal. Easily shrugged off the ball, sits there complaining for way too long whilst we attack and then saunters back in to position with all the urgency of a Paul Pogba penalty run-up.

He wasn’t entirely at fault for the goal, Sancho was basically a training cone and the floppy haired snake got turned inside out but the lack of urgency from a CB is shocking.
Just on this piece, Sancho was abysmal. I literally forgot he was playing until I glanced up at the big screen on about 70 mins. Absolute passenger

Colwill was keeping JPVH out of the team for most of the season he was here. Getting a loanee was blocking the development of our young player, which I still believe was a mistake and i'm glad we haven't loaned anyone in this season.

As for buying him? I think Van Hecke would have asked for and got a move. We'd be in a worse position than we are now. We dodged a bullet

He's a good player and I would have loved to get him here if the money to do so had of been reasonable, but...that 3rd goal. So weak, no foul, just sits down and wants a freekick. So glad the ref was having none of it.

Have you missed all the times Veltman has done much the same? He did it 2 or 3 times just in the last 20 against Wolves

He's been poor all season. In fact he's never really been that great for Chelsea, just living off the Brighton tag like a few of their players and staff 😂

I think there's a good defender in there. The problem Chelsea fans made is that they heard he had a good season with us so assumed he was going to come back to them and take the Premier League by storm. After giving us all that money for Potter, Cinderella etc, they viewed it as a rare chance to get one over on us by taking back their player and refusing to let us buy him. He was "generational", they said. "A Rolls Royce of a defender".

The reality was, he had a very decent season for us as a 19yr old, in a mostly winning team, with experienced players alongside him, but he wasn't faultless. The difference is however, when playing for us, he could make the odd mistake and get away with it. Because they Chelsea then signed him to a lucrative new deal amid great fanfare, the expectations went through the roof, and as soon as it turned out he wasn't in fact the complete product, the reincarnation of Virgil Van Dijk, they've been on his case and calling him shit.

Put him in a decent defence with a manager who takes the time to build his confidence and encourage him to embrace the odd failure as a learning point rather than a disaster and I'm sure he'll flourish again. Hopefully not at Chelsea though.

Yes, I'd have him back, despite his weakness for the third goal last night.

I thought he was absolutely dogshit last night to be honest. Tied for worst player on the pitch with Sancho, who was embarrassing to watch. When you consider how bad their whole team was, that really takes some doing. He looked like a competition winner.

Just look at him for the third goal. Falls over for no reason, not even a suggestion of a foul, stays on the floor moaning while we bomb into his space, and score in exactly the spot he should’ve been defending.

And what’s he doing? Jogging back slowly.

There’s a good player there but he needs a serious attitude adjustment. Looked non-league last night.

Dodged a bullet methinks

Getting dogs abuse on Chelsea forums.

Weak , arrogant , overrated .

Webbo kept him out of the team when de zerbi was here and he hasn't kicked on.
He’s none of those three things at all.

Poor game last night but he’s a quality young defender no where near his peak. He should have stayed with us like he knew should and he wanted to but money talks as ever in football.

Would have him back here in a heartbeat if we had the chance.

And when you watch it back, you see the ultimate football sin has been committed.

Had he got straight up and got back in the fight, then he's have been back to stop Minteh passing to Welbeck for the 1-2. The goal would have been prevented.

Instead he banked on getting the attention of the VAR officials. Chelsea do pretty well out of officials generally and VAR, but even they weren't going to get that.

Moaning twat. I'll take Dunk, Webby and JPVH as my centre backs over him any day

He had a promising season with us but he wasn't a guaranteed starter. Webbo kept him out a lot. People seem to forget that.

He only played 17 games.

He's good and he had the right attitude then. I'm just not fully sold on him being better than someone like JPVH. But I guess we always overrate English players*

*Except hinsh :)

To be honest I think he really hasn't kicked on as everyone expected. Looks a little casual and personally I think he has air of Sanchez arrogance about him.
