He was dazzled when a big club came in for him for a considerable salary hike. I'm not sure how Chelsea coming in for him would be any less dazzlement.
And now chelsea pulled out of ugarte deal so expecting a bid for caicedo. Probably will offer triple wages so nailed on decision for caicedo. Cant see chelsea offering £85-90m though.

Much rather he doesn't go to a shitty club like Chelsea - but if he goes for £60M-£70M plus Colwill it might just be a sacrifice worth making. Nothing less though.
Would still, overall, prefer him to go to a decent club if he has to go.

If that random LCB turns out to be either Arthur Theate or Facundo Medina I’ll be ecstatic.

Both are currently a lot better than Colwill.
We’re now being linked to Medina….

Good to see levi (who always came across as decent) stick up for himself against james mcdirty (who doesn't come across well for me)
Picking a fight because you get a slightly late hip tackle is more "putting your team in trouble" than "sticking up for himself".

Needs to sort it out

To be honest, I though he came of looking a right dick. A slight bump on the hip from a L1 journeyman and the Chelsea comes out.

Stick up for himself? In the PL he's walking for his reaction. Needs to learn to curb that temper.

I think the reaction is fairly understandable when you’ve just come back from a spell out injured and you’re on the end of a late tackle in a meaningless pre-season friendly.

Indeed. McClean is obviously being a wind up merchant as always. I went t to Walsall v Villa this time last week and there was zero tackles in the game.

Dodged a bullet methinks

Getting dogs abuse on Chelsea forums.

Weak , arrogant , overrated .

Webbo kept him out of the team when de zerbi was here and he hasn't kicked on.
They're all getting dogs abuse.

He would have been a decent signing and not playing for Chelsea helps a player's development.

I wish we'd spent the £30m.
He didn't have a particularly good game tonight, but even if it was only a 4/10 he was still one of their better performers.

But ignoring tonight, ... time waits for no man.
We all know that Dunky is in the twilight zone and we need to find a replacement to step in for the long term.
Webster is already too old to be considered a long term replacement, as is Igor.
I know we've just spent some cash on Cash, but we know nothing about him yet, so he may or may not be up to the job.

If Colwill had signed, he already knew our DNA, he had proved he was capable, he would have learned from Dunk (and
Webster come to that), and we could have groomed him to become an ideal Dunk MkII, and he'd be a darn sight better player than the one currently performing for the Chels.

If we had signed him JPVH is unlikely to have signed a new contract so we’d no longer have him

Not in Whitechapel
I’d have absolutely lost my head if a Brighton player had done what Colwill did in the build up to our third goal. Easily shrugged off the ball, sits there complaining for way too long whilst we attack and then saunters back in to position with all the urgency of a Paul Pogba penalty run-up.

He wasn’t entirely at fault for the goal, Sancho was basically a training cone and the floppy haired snake got turned inside out but the lack of urgency from a CB is shocking.

Still likely to become a very good CB over time but really needs to bulk up a bit. He hasn’t kicked on much is the 18 months since he went back to Chelsea. Seems to get easily pinned by a physical CF. Could do with having a chat with Danny Welbeck and ask him what his gym routine is.

He would have developed more with us. It's a shame we didn't sign him.
