Just caught up including. Great post ride interview. I love listening to him speak.

Not sure what was happening at the end of the interview. Cav's expression changed and he said, "Matt it was me, I was talking more he wasn't asking". And then voices at the back saying something about touching and then Cav saying, "guys guys guys"???

In the bedlam :D.

The Telegraph had two amazing articles about Cav today with graphics.

Adore Cav. I'm always in awe at the speed at which the sprinters go but the way today in the last 200-800 metres Cav moved from being boxed in on the right by weaving through several small gaps that opened up in order to get a clear run out in the left -- and at such speed -- was so skilful.
Apparently, Cav has an encyclopedic memory of all his winning sprints throughout his career. I think he is one of those very rare, genius sportsmen who is able to remain calm and sees everything in slow-motion. The way he can jump from one wheel to the next to the next until he hits the front is just insane and, as we saw yesterday, if he picks a wheel to follow at the same time as another rider there is only going to be one winner in that fight.

Thanks for this. Really informative. Shows the sheer dedication of these elite sportspeople, and Cav is right up there amongst them.

I’ve just tuned in. What problems have there been?
The main problem has been narrow roads and slowing peloton on gravel climbs, resulting in some riders having to run. No different to the Flandrien one day classics or stages in GTs going back decades.

So, while I understand @Cheeky Monkey point, I do disagree.

Does Pogačar realise this race ends in Nice in a couple of weeks?

Well that was superb entertainment. Brilliant stage, the last 50km that I saw.
I watched up until the F1 so from about 180km to go to 80km - incredible drama on some of the gravel sections, definite one for the extended highlights!

I've really enjoyed this year's TdF. I have to say, though, that I always feel that ending on a time trial is a bit of an anti-climax. Racing issues have almost always been decided, so it boils down to watching the same scenes over and over again before they hand out the gongs. Now a mountaintop finish....

I guess there are sound logistical reasons for not doing that (not least the lack of mountains in Paris). Maybe if they took a more innovative approach to presenting a TT, such as overlaying 'ghost' riders to allow a more direct comparison than occasional time checks.
