that guy from blackburn-jones , the young centreback?
Agree with this. Looks like the new JT, Only without the greed & general wankerishness.
And Chris Smalling could very well replace Rio for club & country.

Maybe, you have to wonder why no one uses a 3-5-2 seemingly at any level any more though?Or the right centre half of a back three.
Hardly anyone left NOW is playing it! In fact the only teams I can think of that do are Australia and America. Italy played it in one game.4-4-2 is to fragile a formation these days, us English have too much reliance on getting down the wings and crossing the ball, I bet you not one of the final 4 teams in the world cup will play a rigid 4-4-2.

Does the News of the Screws have enough paparazzi to cope with this?I was thinking that most of this current squad should go and start bedding the youngsters.

At international would it be too much of a 'straight line' formation in the same way as 4-4-2 has been in this tournament (and for years in truth)?
I think we need to go with two deep lying midfielders, three in front, one striker. What Germany played today, though I've though this for quite a long time.
something like:
Hart
Johnson/Richards Onuaha Shawcross Gibbs
Huddlestone Rodwell
Walcott Rooney Johnson
Zamora
Johnson was shite today but he's not a bad player, plus, how many good English rightbacks can you think of? Richards could replace him but he needs to regain form (and be played in the position), probably with a move. I was strugling for centrebacks as well, that Jones lad from Blackburn is a great call though. I think Onuaha is a good defender and quick as lightning, though not the greatest when he gets on the ball. Gibbs is the obvious succesor to Ashley Cole, though he should have at least another couple of years in him.Have you been taking acid tonight?! I think my work team would put a few past that defence. Glen Johnson?!? I'd rather have Jack.
If you take out Rooney those players easily have less than 50 caps between them too. Zamora?!
