Just seen something about the amount of absolute classic albums released in 1971.
Personally, I can’t believe some of these are 50 years old now,all released in what must be the best ever year for music.

What’s going on. Marvin Gaye
Meddle. Pink Floyd
Led Zeppelin 4. Led Zeppelin
Who’s Next The Who

There’s a riot going on. Sly and the family stone

There are many more, these are just some of the best ones.

You may be too old.

My view is that 'pop music' is too diverse now, and too abundant to have the sort of cultural impact of music in 1971, an era when more than 20 million viewers would tune in to Morecambe and Wise, let alone Top Of The Pops.

If your musical affections are too closely aligned with your recollections of your youth and a bygone lifestyle then nothing modern will ever resonate. It took me 20 years to do so but I think I have now separated my nostalgia or whatever one may call it from my enjoyment of music (which means I can enjoy brand new stuff). But I am a little peculiar.
