Driver announced he wasn't concentrating ! Signaller wouldn't let him reverse back. So therefore he couldn't open the doors and had to proceed to Brighton.

Bloody inconvenient !

What would have happened if he had lost concentration approaching Brighton??

Disgraceful.

I was on one which forgot to stop at HH, Wivs, BH and PP. Stopped at Hassocks though!

Exactly the same thing, and reason given, happened a couple of months back coming back from London on a GWExp train

A mandatory drug/alcohol test for him I believe. My brother in laws dad is a retired copper, and works for a company that undertakes such tests. He once told me that overrunning the platform is a huge NO-NO in the eyes of train drivers and management, not to mention bloody inconvenient for those wanting to disembark the train.

So he/she made a mistake. Get them the sack, go on. What has country turned into?

Agree entirely. Yes, it's an unfortunate error and it causes inconvenience. But life goes on. No need to vindictively hunt them down and make a massive issue out of it.

This. He/She lost concentration for a second, plus it's leaf fall season so the tracks are extra slippery. Happens from time to time because, guess what, train drivers are human. And if he'd done it at Brighton (which is unlikely as it's a terminus so he/she wouldn't "forget" they were stopping there), overspeed grids would have stopped him.
Maybe we should all stand over HB&B whilst he works and shout "disgraceful" every time he makes a mistake.

Bloody out of order, as people have said everyone makes mistakes. This driver probably has a family to support and you're happy to try and get him the sack, yeh nice one doughnut

haven't you got anything better to do than tell the world of NSC the events that befall you? Train overshooting the platform, emailing a complaint, whatever next? I can't wait for the next instalment

But if you've never made a mistake in your entire life, the very least you should expect from everybody else, is exactly the same level of greatness.

Ridiculous reaction to a trivial and minor inconvenience.

You can send all the Emails you want it won't make a slight bit of difference as the driver will be in big trouble anyway, He will have been relived of his duties and drug tested long before you've even thought what to write or who to send it to. All you will have achieved is wasting your own time and the time of the person who had to read it.
