I see on 'Dogs' Guinness Boy is trying to promote 'Running' as the doyen of collective threads on NSC.

It would seem someone has got a little ahead of himself and may well need reminding who's the daddy.

When did you last see a jogger run a red light?

You are shitting me.

My last bugbear re The Strat was the chain guard holder behind the crank.
Naturally the cotter pin was ceased in, so I left the nut off the pin and have waited for the inevitable.

Well during this morning's jaunt for breakfast it all loosened up and I can finally get to the holder.

Aarrrgggghhhhhh - any advise on getting that off, when your biggest spanner is far to big and your second biggest is about 1 mm too small.

I'm probably being facetious.

Grinder to the too small spanner or a giant adjustable, mole grips or possibly slip jointed pliers?

I retired my MTB this morning. I gave it a good send off, a lovely ride alongside the river Medway. Anyone visiting Maidstone for the first time via river would think it the best town in Kent. No front gears, brakes that don't bring you to a halt and a very second hand seat. It had to go and it wasn't worth converting.

I liked the ride so much, I'm back on the 'gravel' train of thought. Would I use it enough to justify acquiring it? I suppose I could commute on it because that has rough surfaces and a fair smattering of gravelly debris.

I still can't my head around whether the govt scheme is worth it. When I read it, I am not sure I see the point, save access, because overall you are out of pocket to the same extent.

Any thoughts:
Triban
Voodoo

I'm a bit cautious about the Voodoo because I might be at the limit of height for size L, no size XL.

The Triban is a single. I fear that might be one short at each end, making any climb a grind and any run a spin.

Get a cheap gravel bike, much more fun. Be good for a winter/ commute bike.

Any recommendations for a cheap bike maintenance stand?

Traditionally Aldi/Lidl would be your best bet for the cheaper end of the market.

Dunno how much of their cycling range Aldi are currently carrying down the aisle of uncertainty, I'll have a look tomorrow.

Sram! I did the ridelondon thing today and included a ride from home to the start. So 128 miles into the 130 my doubletap shifter snapped off! I suppose it is whole new shifter time rather than just the aluminium lever?

Oh Moto…

You loved your MTB ride, but your bike’s a bit shit?

For God’s sake man, get yourself a new (good) MTB!

And while choosing you can start practicing your middle distance pointing.

It's not as easy as 'they' make it look.

I spent the first few miles with painful hands. I think I'm molded into drops now.

I want to do the Cantti Way and can get a train direct. I don't think there's much MTB action on my manor; even that river route had load of frustrating stop points and there's only so often you can go the same route.
