Northern Seagulls - Going to Newcastle ?

Highly likely, just an easy jaunt up the A1 from Donny. Going into training though for the everest like climb to the away end.

    Newcastle game - Aug 27th, 17:30 Kick-off

Feel for those travelling up. On top of which away fans get a pretty poor view of the match. We are, if it stays as usual , given seats high in the sky. So pack some binoculars and for us of more advanced years some oxygen.

The day that Sussex died -100th anniversary this year

Thanks for that. I last saw the diary in 1976 and there were no copying facilities where it was held (Regimental Museum in Beverley). So had to write my own notes which I have mislaid over the years. All the best.

The day that Sussex died -100th anniversary this year

Two of my uncles, Sussex boys, signed up to The East Yorkshires . Soldiering was their profession so they, on return from India, were sent with the regiment as the British Expedictionary Force. Later becoming known as the 'Old comtemptibles'. They were in the 1st Battalion but after most were...

    [Politics] Brexit

Do remain voters regret voting Conservative last year? Just wondered as where we are now is down to that vote perhaps more than the one on June 23th. Remember only UKIP and the Conservatives had this option.

    [Politics] Brexit

Living in the Socialist Republic of South Yorkshire, I have to agree. This is Labour heartland and you are hard pressed to find any who want to Remain.

New cigarette selling laws come into force today

Good. Anything to discourage the slow agonising suicide caused by this habit. Loss so many friends.

I have 2 'small' requests of our club for this time next week please......

Yeah great idea!!! Just like Middlesborough making the more elderly support have to stand to see or block the view for my deaf lad leaving him with a totally miserable experience. If he can't hear and can't see whats he got left?. Sit down.

Driving up , the train was too expensive as my self plus son to pay for. Takes about an hour and a half from Donny.

Opposite for me loved the place or rather many of the people, I was at Uni back then , lived in Hardwick Street and just loved those Friday nights in the pub with the locals. Yes I know the crap bits but that is everywhere.

Are you or have you been a qualified ref?

Yes qualified aged 16 but was a better player than ref, probably a better support than ref. Though I do know how hard it can be to make instant decisions and always be right. So I cut them some slack.....most of the time.
