    Our fanbase

As I have long suspected we have about as many season ticket holders in Horsham as Crawley, despite it being further away and having a smaller population. Surprised there aren't a few more fans in Ashford (TN23, 24 & 25) given it links directly to Falmer by rail, but I reckon this will grow in...

    Our fanbase

I don't know. The list only had BN, TN and RH post codes. They all add up to about 16000 so there are approx 1500 in other areas I guess.

Transport Levy....£30 confirmed as per NSC exclusive

The club comissioned comprehensive travel surveys for the home games against Blackpool, West Ham and Leeds. The results are in the public domain. They observed an average occupancy of 2.7 per car in the Racecourse P&R, 2.7 in Bennett's Field and 3.1 in the University of Sussex car parks.

I gave up my seat so that Frau Tubthumper could sample the 1901 experience. Gutted I missed out on meeting a celeb. :(

Club size potential by catchment area?

If you were to define our catchment area as the boroughs served by Seagulls Travel then the combined population of this area is nearly 2.3 million.

Ok chaps, I'll say this slowly for the hard of thinking.

Obviously can never be proven, but I'd take the opposite view. The standard in the top two flights is higher now than then, simply due to the influx of foreign internationals. Back then almost every side was almost exclusively made up of British and Irish born players. I really can't see how...

Books that made you laugh out loud?

Another vote for "I, Partridge" from me. My wife actually banned me from reading it in bed, because my laughing kept her awake.

    1901 Club cost cutting

I am not entirely sure. As far as I can ascertain it basically involves looking pretty and massaging the egos of middle aged men by pretending to find them fascinating and amusing. Which is fine by me.

    1901 Club cost cutting

I agree that the catering was originally promoted as "fine dining" and it is some way off that, however it's much improved since the first few games IMO. Still plenty of room for improvement though. The ticket exchange service is up and running. If you log onto the e-cash top-up web site and...

E-Cash balance / Friends and Family

If possible could an E-Cash balance be printed the receipt when buying something using a season card? At present I always have to ask the salesperson. When my phone credit falls below £2 I receive an automated text to tell me, which I find very useful. In the same vein, could an email and/or...

Season Tickets Next Season - You Decide

All this indicates a renewal rate of over 99%! I'd imagine 80%-90% is the norm and over 95% is pretty rare, so 99% is just mental!

Amex expansion application now available to view online

Interesting to note plans are afoot to run a shuttle bus to near the ground (as suggested by some on NSC): "the Club will trial the provision of a shuttle service from Brighton City Centre to The Keep."

did albion miss a big revenue trick?

The catering contract was reported as being a whopping £18M over 5 years. That's £3.6M a season even without factoring in any percentage of matchday profit. Or to put it another way it's roughly equivalent to the ENTIRE yearly turnover of the club whilst at Withdean. Presumably this deal will...

Argus Letters re Parking in Coldean

You are already subsidising travel. Each voucher costs £1 but gives approx £3 of travel. Where does that extra £2 come from? Everyone traveling by train without a vouchers is costing the club, and by extension us, money, assuming that Southern are estimating numbers accurately. I don't use...

Your last Cinema sell out experience

Cinema attendances declined pretty much year on year from 1946 until the mid 80s when the nadir of 55 million attendances were recorded. Since then the rise is pretty much solely attributable to the multiplex. Last few years they have flat-lined. I think there is still a place for independent...

Your last Cinema sell out experience

Cinema attendances have trebled since the 1980s in the UK. That said they are about one tenth of the best ever year, 1946, where 1.6 billion admissions were recorded. 2011 Summer attendances were up on 2010.

Green's blocking Amex expansion plans? Steve Bassam

Just to clear up any confusion and to underline PPs post, the first link contains a map of the site on the last page. The land in green is the new academy. The land in blue is the part of the old school site for which the council have retained ownership and this is the subject of the...

Green's blocking Amex expansion plans? Steve Bassam

A row has broken out over plans to expand BHA’s Amex stadium in Falmer. The heated exchange took place on the social network Twitter between Green councillor Jason Kitcat and the former leader of B&H city council Lord Steve Bassam. The two locked horns over propoasals for an extra 8000 seats at...
