The costs of setting this facility up and maintaining it are an unknown though aren't they. If it's only kicking in for a few games a season and just a couple of hundred tickets are sold through it, can we be sure that the costs are covered? I'm doubtful. At present it just seems more of a...
Seems to give me the option to use the ticket exchange facility when I log in. Perhaps a question for "ask the club"? Not sure how they'd calculate the value of a ticket though given that you can't know exactly how many games to divide the yearly cost by until the end of the season.
Simple to you I guess. :) This info is pretty useful. In theory could the results be fed into NSC somehow, for example so they appear in the header at the top of the page?
Why bother to do it at all then? They are under no obligation to do so. Maybe they want to make changes that will make people happier as they will be more likely to spend money on match days and renew their memberships in 4 years? Keeping customers happy and making money are related.
Actually he said he had read them and he didn't use the word "dipped":
"I understand, as part of your initiation once you’d accepted the job it was to read “Build a Bonfire” and ”We Want Falmer”. Is that actually true?"
PB: "I think I’ve got four books now and I’ve worked through them and...
Was planning to bring my 4 year old daughter to her very first match yesterday, but she decided at the last moment she didn't want to come. I was so gutted. :(
True. It makes historical comparisons somewhat dubious.
But then it also makes present day comparisons with other clubs more relevant (seeing as more clubs now appear to report tickets sold than actual attendances).
It's the difference between saying we average 10,000 more than Palace or we...
Even with the most rose tinted spectacles it is hard not to question the wisdom of this. It's looks like a massive gamble that recent strong passenger growth will continue and meet or even outstrip forecasts. Looks like the Treasury pulled rank on the DfT.
After a shaky start Virgin have...
For those that are interested here are the latest TOC performance figures.

A few things to note:
There is a huge difference between TOCs.
Of the top two performers one is effectively state owned and one is privately owned. The same is true of the...
FCC don't actually receive a subsidy. They are in the select group of TOCs that pay a premium to the treasury. Southern's subsidy has reduced steadily year on year and will probably have to start paying a premium in the next year or two.
I'd put FCC somewhere near the bottom of TOCs in terms of...
The government would effectively have to create new not for profit companies like East Coast and Network Rail.
If we stick with private franchises then they need to be longer and linked to investment commitments. Chiltern (incidentally owned by Deutsche Bahn) have a 20 year franchise and the...
I think the subject of ownership is a bit of a red herring. I suppose replacing franchises with not for profit companies as they come up for renewal might be worth considering, but really good management, customer focus and investment are far far more important. There are good privately owned...
I think it's good to see Yorkshire doing so well. They are, by nature, proud but modest folk, who will let this pass without comment or boastfulness. As a rule they rarely bring up their county in conversation and are loath to let any success go to their heads.
A little known fact is that...
