[Travel] Seaford to Lewes trains replaced by buses for Ipswich game

Falmer was already lengthened from 7 to 8 car length in about 2012. Ideally you'd want to extend the Brighton platform at the western end to spread out passengers more evenly, but this would involve moving a signal and foot crossing. It'd be cheaper to extend at the eastern end, and still...

[Travel] Seaford to Lewes trains replaced by buses for Ipswich game

This probably means services will be limited to 4 an hour between Brighton and Lewes, rather than the usual 5-6. If so, this will impact everyone travelling by rail. If they use all the spare units that are usually needed for Seaford services to lengthen all the Brighton/Lewes/Eastbourne trains...

I doubt it will be that hard to be honest, unless they changed clothes and shoes after purchasing said balaclavas.

[Football] Who do you want to be England manager?

I've watched a lot of the U21s recently, and unlike the seniors in recent months, they have been an absolute joy to watch under Carsley. He also managed to do what Southgate failed to when he was in charge of the U21s, and win the Euros. I hope he gets the job.

[Albion] Garth Crooks (made-up) Team of the Week 2023/24

I've been keeping tabs on this nonsense: Spare a thought for Dominic Solanke, Callum Wilson, and Hwang Hee-chan. 21 goals between them and just one appearance. Predictably, Spurs are above Arsenal in Garth's world. He really loves Everton, doesn't he?

[Albion] The "Official" Albion Fan Advisory Board thread

Au contraire. There is plenty of evidence for a driver shortage, both nationally and locally. This is a real issue, not an imagined one, and it undoubtedly impacts the services that can be provided on matchdays.

Yes, that's why I suggested relaying the CC-TV feeds to the concourses too. Departure boards are useful of course, but they only give you a partial picture of what's happening outside. To get a full picture you need to be able to see what's happening, or at least have some indication of waiting...

[Albion] The "Official" Albion Fan Advisory Board thread

Vs. AEK I waited inside for 45 minutes before venturing out, only to still find a lengthy queue. I still had to wait over 30 minutes for a train back to Brighton and got absolutely drenched. In previous seasons, I found that waiting this length of time usually meant only a wait of up to around...

[Albion] New fan zone - "The Terrace"

Some more pics from the planning application. Those blue things look like shipping containers to me, which should not be a surprise I guess, given the club's enthusiasm for BoxPark.

This suggests upstairs will be for American Express Card holders. Taking this further, it could be inferred that Amex will contribute towards some of the costs, as they did for the Amex lounge in the south east corner.

[Albion] Paul Barber and Bennet's Field.

Lewes DC did actually refuse permission. The developers appealed and a public enquiry was held, and the inspector has overturned the decision. I doubt Lewes District Council are happy about this at all. I don't know what options, if any, they have now.

So having a car park with temporary planning permission on the site helped tip the balance.

This was the reason B&H council gave for refusing permission for the hotel. The student development is twice the height, albeit slightly further away.

I think it's made it a lot more likely that planning permission for a future development on the land between this and the stadium (where the hotel proposal was refused) is granted.
