Wouldn’t be suprised to see him moved on if we can do a deal with anyone. You can see there is a decent player in there somewhere but hasn’t shown anywhere near enough fire in his belly or adaptability yet for a top half prem side.
I suspect the club are ahead of the trend and identifying good keepers that can play with the ball at their feet which we are seeing is now a key requirement at most clubs. Even if they spend most of their time on loan, if they can prove themselves at championship level we will make decent...
Poor attitude. “They”, if they really existed would have been a small minority and other than Sidwell (who wasn’t ours) which other players did they take? I dislike them as a club but we more than any know the pain of having your club driven into the ground. I actually have more respect for...
You say that but last season three existing Premier league teams got relegated. One of which won the league recently! I just think 3 really poor teams got promoted this season.
Horrendous half of football. RDZ will be fuming after picking a near best 11. Maintain that we look half the side in terms of build up play with Bart in goal.
Back to the main and actual question posed on the thread title. We are not a small club and it took a while for a lot of our fanbase with understandable PTSD from the dark years to get comfortable allowing themselves to think we can compete with the leagues very best sides.
On the other hand...
Plenty of big teams in the Championship. I think it’s fair to say with our infrastructure we’d never be a small club like Pompey even if we did somehow find ourselves in League one again.
Why would anyone have thought Wilson was our saviour when we were pretty good at the time and didn’t need saving? And he was only a loan. And bar his first appearance or two he was pretty crap.
Seems too lightweight at this point to be playing championship football. If he was good enough Robbins would play him. Might be a slow burn for him to get anywhere near our first 11.
End of the day West Ham are totally basic. If we can defend against the break we should win. I’m expecting a RDZ tactical masterclass with Pedro, Lallana, and Buonnanote as a back 3 with Van Hecke as Cam to fry David Moyes brain and bring home the 3 points.
