I'm super relaxed about Jewell going. I actually see it as an opportunity to get someone in who can take the role to the next level. Reading on the immediate succession plan the new role holders have a great CV and can probably do even more with Tonys supporting tools and network. Fresh blood...
You honestly dont think lots of other people in the club know and worked with Jewell on how he got those deals done? No knowledge will be lost. He was the mouthpiece and deal finisher, I doubt very much he was the master strategist.
I love Liam but he's going to be a long way off where TBs sights are now set. We got Potter when we were odds on to get relegated. TB will now want to be in the Europe conversation every year with a manager that helps us attract the best young talent in world.
Why are people criticising conversations about future potential managers? RDZ will leave at some point and TB will be looking already at potential short lists. Agree that Edwards doesn't have the experience for our game, and would love Rosenior at some point but no way has he shown enough yet...
Ashworth also signed kasper koslowski, Karbownik, Matt Clarke, Zeqiri, Neil Maupay (instead of Ollie Watkins!), Kjel Scherpen, none of which were or are likely to be a success with us, jury also still out on whether we'll get our money back on Sima. There are always going to be hits and misses...
No big rush for tickets this morning. Assume that big block nearer the goal could be available if we want it but still over 500 tickets left from the initial availability. Can't see more than 2k Albion at this one.
No one is indispensable. People will always move to more attractive jobs, and big companies will always go after successful talent, but there is always better or equal talent out there. I'd be amazed if we werent investing heavily in succession planning to make sure Jewells knowledge and...
Tim Vickery really didn't see him playing LB much for us at all and doesn't think he has the attributes to be a defender in the Prem. Rates him highly as a more attacking option.
It was a great album. I got it on a promo before it was released, and had already played it to death before it was then overplayed to death, so shelved it for many years. Similarly, gave it a rerun a few years back when I got my new hifi and it really does mostly stand the test of time.
Ive long given up caring. Hard to think the story hasnt been covered in depth muliple times already while weve been waiting. It's hardly going ot be new news to anyone so can only see Albion fans having any interest in it.
And yet they've had their longest top flight run in history and very rarely been in real relegation trouble. They have just done it differently to us and clearly with a less ambitious strategy but still cant see them getting relegated, even if it is FFP penalties that saves them. I actually...
