So Cook is a great player, is he.....presumably ranking alongside other greats of the game..e.g Bobby Moore.
FFS, why come out with stupid comments like this. HE'S NOT A GREAT PLAYER. He's a decent player at Championship level ( which isn't very good quality ) but no better than that. The same...
When he was at Chelsea, they offered him another year but with no guarantee of regular first team football. They told him that they thought he could carve out a good career below the PL but they didn't think that he would be able to hold down a place at the highest level.
He wasn't able to...
That Spurs team were very special. A rich mixture of talent that combined to produce the best team around for 2-3 years. Brown and Norman were solid at the back. The midfield was to die for. Blanchflower, White and Mackay. Wow...it doesn't get much better than that. A dynamic winger in Cliff...
As I understand it, he played under Clough and Taylor and won the title and then, when they departed, he managed them to the title as well. ( as Daglish did at Liverpool )
Lets just hope that in a few years time, when this particular individual is lying in agony in an ambulance, there is another muppet out there who refuses to move.
Never mind about two wrongs not making a right. In this instance, they do.
Very sad news. One of the big men of football. He was like a lion. One of the first players to make use of the ' long throw Bill Nicholson brought him to Spurs to team up with Blanchflower and White and win the double. In later years, Cloughie persuaded him to go to Derby, control the back four...
Easy.
Remove..... Butters, Oatway, Carpenter, Rogers, and Knight.
Add............Cook, Attwood, Lane, Thorne and Mullery.
Then its getting more like a legends wall.
Circa 1960...Tottenham 13 Crewe 2 ( FAC 4th round replay ).
When Crewe left home, their train departed from platform two and on the return journey, they left Euston on platform thirteen!
Yes, they should do but four successive blanks away from home suggests that blame can be apportioned in both directions. The manager is clearly setting up for 0-0 away and hoping to nick a goal. We are not the sort of side to ' nick ' goals. We aren't clever enough. We need a host of chances to...
They should know. They watch a darn sight more football than a lot of the posters on here. Most of them are away season ticket holders and go to the vast majority of Leeds games.
CMS is one of those players ( like Barnes ) who clearly divide opinion amongst our fans. Leeds fans are not the only...
I know that seems shoite to some but football hasn't always been played the way we see it today. Who knows what they may end up doing? If anything! I just know that something needs to be done before the next, or the next generation of players accept the cheating way as the norm. I still have...
But as she said to me "you've got to live while we're young".
Very true......except I fitted all my early living around the Goldstone. Football first......Stones, Who, Animals, Troggs....Drink...Women....School....etc etc....very much second.
Well...the PL was set up to protect the interests of its members ( particularly the big fish ) and its sure as hell doing that. I think we all knew that 12-13 was our big chance and we blew it. We now have a squad that is going to get 25-30 less points than that season....ouch!
