Ok, so forgive my ignorance here but why would they be set up for being bi-wired and then perform better when not bi-wired?

Does it really make a difference? My Cambridge Audio amp has the bi-wire facility at the back and i'm looking for new speakers, is it worth going for bi-wired? Cheers
