[News] The Coronavirus Good News thread

This is a genuine question, the government sound very confident in a vaccine to be mass producing 30m doses ready for September which to me sounds like they are either very confident or extremely reckless, but nevertheless as covid is a coronavirus the same as a cold, how can we not find a...

Even 49 new cases is massively good news in a population of 9m people ! As for the fact hundreds of cases that did not need treatment.....hasn’t that been the same from the start ? I’d go as far as to say at the peak there were probably thousands of cases that didn’t need hospital treatment.

With respect that article clearly states that the data includes care homes and hospitals, that really shouldn’t be taken into consideration when you’re talking about the level of community infection. An elderly person in a care home is not going to infect anyone outside of that care home !

Yep you’re right zero understanding of economics, I’ve only run my own very successful business for the last 30 years through several recessions. Perhaps I shouldn’t make off the cuff remarks that strangers on the internet disagree with, my apologies and thanks for explanation x

[News] The Coronavirus Good News thread

Is it optimistic to think this virus may just fizzle out, and that we are some way to a level of community infection that it has no where to spread ? The big question is how long the immunity lasts for and whether it’s seasonal like influenza so potentially we could be looking over our shoulder...

Lucky we had the last few years of austerity then, because if we hadn’t we’d already be bankrupt!

But we’re told that it has a 14 incubation period, so these new cases were passed on before they lifted restrictions.

Not for me, I really don’t like it, but I love marmite and I love peanut butter, but mixed together it was revolting.

Of course infection rates will go up, no one has said they won’t, it’s the nature of the beast ! I believe the experts have always said the key is to keep them at manageable levels.

"Stay alert" - new govenment messaging

Basically during the next stage, just be a grown up and make a decision for.yourself rather than letting the government do it for you, me personally I will go to work and come home, much like I have been doing all along, I will go about my daily life as much as I can and I will stay away for...

    Roadmap out of lockdown

I read last week that seasonal flu has killed 32,000 people this year and that the flu vaccine was as successful as in previous years, so guessing another serious flu season alongside covid would mean a lot of deaths again.

Did the virus come in November? (Tin foil warning)

I don’t know about the conspiracy theory, but I’m convinced I had it in early December, I was rough as hell with most of the symptoms for 2 weeks, got better for about a week and then can down with it again for about another 10 days, I don’t think I’ve ever felt so rough, I had 2 days in bed...

Maybe we’re at cross purposes or maybe I just didn’t put into words very well, or maybe your just being a little argumentative, lots of large chains shut at the start at lockdown, and have recently or are about to reopen, this will increase footfall outside during the next few weeks, Mr Hancock...
