Was a good night and probably the right result. No shame in taking Liverpool to a close game. Hopefully we can get the win against Leeds.

Gus knows his stuff, he sees what they are doing well and what they are failing at and it's more than having a rant. He puts things right and inspires the players, and fans. I'm never too worried by a difficult 1st half because you know Gus will work his magic.

When the Gills game came up I advised quite a few footie types and those with a casual interest in Albion that they should take the chance of a half price trip to the Amex plus getting on the database for any big games. The chance was there.

I've watched Albion from the Kop and other areas on Anfield with no problems, but then I didn't draw attention to myself. But these were never capacity crowds and I wasn't taking the place of a local who might otherwise be sat there. I can well imagine that there'll be a few local Liverpool...

I prefer the old days where, whenever possible (usually most times) a player has to leave the pitch for treatment and play goes on whilst they are off. Makes the game flow more and makes those 'injured' players recover so much quicker.

Dereck Dougan was a massive character and I'd have loved to have seen him but my memory is that he was injured and missed this game.

I think the Hull & Barnsley games are good suggestions as I can't see many travelling down for evening games. Also, as they are hardly local rivals, I doubt there'll be all the 'purchase history' issues either. Come on down & enjoy!
