Completely agree with what you say about Kuszczak. I understand why the club released him as he was on high wages and seemed to have his mind on the Premier League but it is ridiculous to criticise him. He's by far the best keeper I've seen in 25 years of watching Albion and was superb for two...
Hope he's okay for the start of the season. He was starting to look really good when he got injured last season. The one position we look really strong at the moment.
Both would be decent options. Walton sounds like a great prospect so bringing in Butland for a year while he develops would be an interesting option. Westwood has been around a while and would be a good signing. Hope we get one of them!
Is he serious? If we'd made the signings they'd made, NSC would be up in arms. I don't think I'd want us to sign any of them.
No doubt they'll all be amazing now but really don't think they'll challenge this season. Possible mid table but buying so many players often doesn't work even if...
So, who replaces him then? If you want to sack a manager, as England always do, then you presumably have a great alternative. A much better option. Or are you just a typical England football fan (ironically the sheep rather than me) who assumes we must sack a manager as we didn't win the World...
That's probably the most bizarre comment I've seen on this thread. Liverpool never gave Hodgson a chance so to use that as an example is ridiculous. Inter he managed twice so they obviously thought he was good enough to bring back, which pretty much nullifies your point. Just because it didn't...
Sorry, I don't agree with the out of his depth comment with England (he has done better with so called smaller nations at the World Cup, it is down to English football as a whole) but to say he was out of his depth at Fulham is bizarre. He did a fantastic job there and Fulham were gutted to lose...
But that's my point. We didn't need lots of signings last summer. Ward was a fantastic replacement for Bridge and that sorted out the one real problem area. January is different as prices go up unless a player is out of contract. I'm sure we are looking to find the next hidden gem, all clubs...
I find it hard to believe that will happen. Despite what people say about FFP, Bloom has backed the manager in the last three years. We had limited transfer activity last summer but then we had most of the team who had come fourth the previous year, only losing Bridge (who we replaced), Hammond...
Funny how you mention playing for a draw. Can you imagine the uproar if we'd done that when it looked like we'd got the upper hand yesterday?
The tactics bit I agree with but the teams who play that well have players who are used to it. I'm not sure we have the players with the technical...
So the success of our national team has nothing to do with the number of foreign players in the Premier League and the lack of English players playing overseas, it's just down to tactics. I think it's pretty clear you're talking total rubbish. The whole sack the manager the minute we're out of...
In fairness, idiot was really harsh about your original post. I was pissed off after the match.
I don't have my head in the sand (as suggested by you and someone else in this thread). In fact I would say my view is the exact opposite. Since Bobby Robson left in 1990, we've struggled in...
Are you serious? Lampard has done nothing for England. I've not heard anyone say he should have played more. Pretty much ruins any point you had. We had a tough group and we're closer to winning than I thought we would be. As I said, you're view of defeat means sack the manager is why we've gone...
Completely agree. We scraped through an awful group then. We're going out of a tough group this time but played much better. Anything else is reactionary rubbish
We weren't going to win this World Cup. With John Terry we might have got through but picking would have been a backward step. The defence probably was too naive this time. The future of a Stones, Shaw, Flanagan etc is promising. We need to move forward and give ourselves a chance.
