Hey, I was at Dentsply too in the early 80's, sending teeth all over the world.
Quite liked that job but just how much are people now paying for my draughty old office and no view?
Oh so many but here's 3 where we had absolutly no hope of winning, but did.
1-0 at Smellhurst a few years back.
1-0 at Forest, unbeaten for ever and us bottom of league.
2-1 at Liverpool in 1983.
God, that's an awful view. Who designed that ground?
As for YNWA, although Liverpool claim it as their own, it's been a football anthem and was often sung at the Goldstone and, because of that, it's one of the songs I'd like sung at my funeral.
Also, what you don't really get from that clip...
Crowhurst Road used to have quite a few firms and, I believe, some 9,500 worked on that road in it's prime.
That was a sight to see them all coming out at knocking-off time. They had to stagger the times the various firms closed in order to deal with the crowds.
I was at Gross/Chubbs.
Nine of the starting 11 were playing Div 1 last year so no wonder the gulf in class.
The squad is now evolving in and getting better but those who think we are ready to go up this season maybe ought to think again.
That Liverpool team were near invincible and the FA Cup really meant something.
Albion played like heros, everyone of them.
Our 4,000 fans were awesome.
Interesting chat on the catering. Remember, people will moan more than they will compliment. I find the pies, beer & staff all very good and well done to the staff who sometimes have quite a lot to deal with.
If I had to moan it would be because things tun out but the message doesn't get out to...
In one aspect the Amex suffers because fans can really only go towards the coach/car park or the station whereas fans could disperse in a number of routes from the Goldstone.
It was a bit sad and dissapointing to see that Millwall seem intent on revelling in their image and what they still...
For future ref, I'd guess it is at the bottom of the old school entrance.
From Coldean Lane heading towards Falmer, take right at the lights under flyover, you can the set down/pick up and you'll then be heading towards Brighton. Those going to the match head under the railway bridge and turn left.
Slightly off topic but, later on on BBC 4, is The Singing Detective.
It's episode two. Not to everyones taste but I seem to remember there was no shortage of flesh on show.
Unlikely to happen at Anfield and can't see people being best pleased if they pay top whack and then it's a free for all depending on who gets there 1st.
