    My First Amex Experience

Funny thing was I hated expressing myself with the written word and my essays struggled to make half a page yet now I write loads of stuff and get quite favourable comments too. Spelling's still a mess though although most are typo's from fat fingers! Anyway, let's give the thread back to Mr...

Have a look at my programmes website

Just had a quick look and great to see some of those old programmes that I have bagged up in my loft! My pooter is not the smartest and maybe that's why I can only see certain pages from each programme?

    My First Amex Experience

Pleasure to meet you & your Mum last night. It's really something that the Amex offers enough legroom for you. About 90% of seats in other grounds you'd have difficulty with! Safe journey and look forward to the next time.

    West Stand Upper Stewards.

Yep, thumbs up from me too and they do such a great job treating us as customers rather than some of the confrontational stewarding of the past. I think it also helps that stewards have their own 'patch'. They get to know us, we get to know them. I'd also like to give a thanks to the steward at...

That newly surfaced footpath through the woods from the Hikers Rest ...

Yep, no more scarey then when Margaret Frame(?) was murdered there about 20 years ago. Don't think her killer was ever caught.

    Favourite War Movie(s)

Zulu, Gallipolli and Oh What A lovely War as the ideal anti-war film.

    Views from the Reading end......

Having been adversaries for just about all my years of supporting Albion, I've no particular like or disliking of them but it is good to see a club, who for many years knocked around the old 3rd division with us, having a chance at the big time again so yes, good luck to them and much rather...

    Stiring and moving film soundtracks

'Coming Home', a film about Vietnam veterans with a great 60's soundtrack running in the background.

That newly surfaced footpath through the woods from the Hikers Rest ...

It's a sad sign of the times if you blame the council for not clearing this up. What's wrong with people hanging on to their own litter until they can put it in a bin? People these days seem to think they can just drop rubbish as they go, then moan about the fact that council budgets are...

Suggestion for tomorrow - Friday 13th

I was watching a programme about the sinking of the Concordia(?) last night and I believe that sank on a Fri 13th.

St Pauli striker asks ref for his goal to be chalked off after handball

Not having seen the vid but reading the text, maybe he messed up his header and the ball hit his head then his hand? If the ball came off the side of his head, and thus not heading towards goal, then the deflection, even if accidental, should not stand and, as 'ball to hand' would not deserve a...

    ARSON eleven years.

Some might say he provided thousands of £'s worth of improvements to the Croydon area.

Steve Gritt - were you there?

Saw all the home games that season. Gritt was appointed as a 'puppet' by those who were determined to run the club out of business. He would have been cheap with little experience, perfect cannon fodder except.... ...he didn't play their game. He had pride, dignity and a will to do the...

    A thread of retro referees

I'm no good at the picture posting lark but THIS is a must! Gurnam Singh? And please, no MR for that prat who's name sounds like a South London team.

    Dunk

AEA is such a commanding presence. Dunk is taller and I think we are in danger from corners tonight, but I'd still rather have AEA.

How would you improve the modern game?

4th official a retired ref with access to video and miked up to ref. Not to delay hgame as such but if he spots that a pl;ayer has cheated, even after play has restarted, he can advise ref. Most things can be seen before play restarts anyway, as in the QPR pen incident.

    Some help for 1983

The poster who put the team in a 4-4-2 formation has not really put the team as they played but just split the 1-11 down into that format. Wardy was loaned back to us and was always a forward. he may have appeared to play a wider role at Anfield but that's just because we were under pressure...
