[Misc] How will you celebrate when social restrictions are lifted?

I would say pub, but I expect any open pubs will be heaving. I think a party with family and friends will be the smart option

    [NSC] Holidays in 2021 ?

We’ve booked a week in the canaries at the tail end of this year, and I’ve booked skiing flights for Feb next year. EasyJet winter schedule was out a little early and all flights were £60 return with 99p baggage charges, so it was a bit of a no brainer. Who knows whether we’ll actually get to...

    [Food] Crisps.

Funnily enough, as soon as I saw the thread title I thought of pickled onion Monster Munch

[News] Life in Lockdown: which bits do you quite like?

Every day feels like a Saturday. I’m furloughed from work, so legally I can’t actually do anything. I was WFH a week or so ago, but now we’ve closed email has dried up and there is nothing to do. It’s been nice working in the garden, which is something I don’t normally do but keeping my son...

    [News] Empty

This is exactly the time that I’d love to have the chance to wander around these normally bustling cities. Unlikely to ever happen.......under any circumstances

[Football] People recalling when they once played against kids who went on to be pros

I played in the same boys team as Steve Brown(Charlton, and briefly Albion) and played against Simon Rodger many times

    [Music] Rolling Stones

Ronnie Wood is a great guitarist, but he was bought into the Stones to play guitar and little more. His input into Stones songs is negligible at best, whereas Taylor was part of the fabric of the band

    [Albion] Andone

Andone is good enough player, but he’s a liability. A red card waiting to happen, or as we saw against West Brom(??), a retrospective 5(?) game ban for violent conduct. No thanks but if we can get something back on the £5m outlay, that’d be good

    [Brighton] Council tip

Hove and Shoreham both closed. I suspect BRIGHTON is too

    [Technology] Internet Connection

Our virgin connection regularly shows at around 100Mbps, but today was down at 14. Three of us working from home, no streaming or particular heavy use from us, but I suspect it’s getting a rinsing across our local area

[Misc] Where is the first place you will go when this lockdown is over ?

Socially, I’m going to take a punt and say either Hangleton Manor or The Railway at Portslade Station. Or possibly work....

[Misc] Top rock star or International footballer?

I work with musicians, some hugely successful, some jobbing and some desperately trying to climb the ladder. It’s a lifestyle choice, and is not for the faint hearted. Charlie Watts is often quoted ‘being in the Stones was 5% playing and 95% hanging around’, and that’s where the rot often sets...

[Food] Fish & Chip shops . . . still open?

Bankers on church road was open yesterday, would presume they’re open today too

[Drinking] Fridat night home drinking thread

Started on the cava as there was a bottle in the fridge. And we’ve just taken delivery of a table tennis table, so that should hopefully see us through these isolating times. When the cava runs out shortly, it’ll be a Rioja

Easyjet Now Allowing Changes In Date/Destination Free Of Charge

And as of 5am Tuesday, there will be no flights to the USA from the UK either

Easyjet Now Allowing Changes In Date/Destination Free Of Charge

We’re supposed to be going to Barcelona on Friday, and whilst the easyJet offer is a nice gesture you can only change flights until mid October as the winter schedule is not out yet. Our reason for the trip was to take my son to a game, do the stadium tour etc but that’s all been canned. If...

    [Albion] Midfield today

I’m not a Stephens fan, but we missed him today. Propper cannot play that role, his game is to intricate. The idea that Burn and Schelotto would provide attacking width today was easily unpicked by a high press. A great point away from home, I don’t think we deserved anything more from the game

[Football] Was your Sunday morning football ever like this?

Wild Park in the snow wasn’t a great deal of fun either. The changing rooms there were freezing cold in the summer..

[Football] Was your Sunday morning football ever like this?

Ha, I played on that slope for the old blue bus company. And waterhall used to be bad(probably still is) after a few days of heavy rain
