    Drinkwater in England squad

Good squad really, feel that a few others (Shawcross, Deeney, Defoe) were in the running for a call up but it's hard to argue with the list as it is.

    Malcolm Muggeridge RIP

Exactly. The timing may be a little off but she's at least accurate.

    Number nine, Ashley Barnes!

Not necessarily, I personally thought Barnes was a good player when he was here and certainly didn't like seeing him go as several others did at the time. Sadly, he was the scapegoat for many for such a prolonged period of time that anyone who praises his time here now is seen as trying to be...

Boro and Albion for autos according to Teesside Gazette

Now that's impressive. It's all well and good beating the 'big' teams in a division but to consistently pick up maximum points against the 'small' one is surely the backbone of any successful season...which it looks like increasingly like Burnley are having right now.

    Just seen this !

Another thread about a former striker that we arguably don't need, marvellous!

    Great Position But !!!

Fishing surely. If not then there really isn't any situation where people won't find something to complain about is there? Very depressing.

ex Albion player winning England's top division

He jumped to mind but I wasn't sure he actually had one with us or if I was making it up...

    Neil Lennon left Bolton

I did mention the occasional European achievement but I'm not sure that dominating the Scottish football scene is much of a selling point when you're a Celtic manager lacking in Rangers opposition (I think that coincided anyway).

Welcome to the club! You'll start a browser and before you know it you'll be sharing tales of horrendous working practices, people and situations.

Another bunch of public sector employess on strike.....

Or maybe they have. Political baiting seems to be something of an NSC sport now, it's all very confusing. Burn the right/left/commies/fascists(delete as appropriate)!

    Neil Lennon left Bolton

It irks me that he seems to be such a highly rated manager in some quarters. He did well in terms of European achievement (sort of) at Celtic but otherwise hasn't achieved an awful lot. Due to the situation at Bolton being as it is I can't imagine he'll be damaged much by his time there...

    Karanka

I would find that hard to believe; 'Come on lads, let's lose to Charlton, that'll make the fans get behind us!'

Gareth Barry with Man City? Ian Wright with Arsenal, if you want to count a trial with us...which I do...

Wonderful stuff, I still can't bring myself to believe they'll actually do it...

The greatest footballer that you ever saw play live

Occurred to me when I saw the thread title as well. I've had similar discussions in the past with people, that weren't at the game, who were trying to convince me that it must have been due to a poor Ipswich performance on the day. Fools the lot of them.

    Boro meltdown

Exactly the same here, though I did also let out a chuckle at the whole situation. Great fun to be looking in on someone else's pain for once (as we've been relatively calm for a while now).

Or for the gross incompetence involved in sinking the no doubt utterly perfect submarine.

    [Football] Sidwell on Soccer AM

Used to enjoy Soccer AM but can't stand the new bloke. No idea what his name is but he rates at least 2.5 Lovejoys on the smug and unfunny scale.
