It would appear not, but Amelia's current band - Tender Trap - play out and about every so often.
Helen Love were great last night too; first London gig since 1999.
Can't believe this was 16 years ago:
I was a bit star-struck earlier in the year when I swapped tweets with Helen Love...
The Talulah Gosh set last night was short but very sweet; Amelia Fletcher, Eithne Farry and Peter Momtchiloff playing four songs.
Talulah Gosh
Don’t Go Away
Just a Dream
And… erm… I can’t remember right now.
“We are here to bury Talulah Gosh once and for all”. Maybe that will be the last we...
I'm at the Damaged Goods Helen Love gig at the 100 Club and just had it confirmed that the 'special guests' between Cyanide Pills and Helen Love are a specially reunited, one-off Talulah Gosh! Woohoo - will try and get a few pics :-)
Three fliers; one for December and you really should all come along (6 of the bands were on the CDs I put together)...
...and two from the days of yore, one with added local interest!
I didn't get along to this, but soooo wish I had.
It's out today, although Asda delivered my copy yesterday. I only managed to cram in 40 minutes of multiplayer action but feel initially underwhelmed, (I'm such a massive BF3 fan that I'm not surprised). I'm sure it will grow on me massively, but I just feel a bit narked at some of the button...
The key thing here is the HMRC status of the plan - Approved or Unapproved. As mentioned above, if you sell the shares directly from an Approved plan, then there is no tax payable. However, if you transfer the shares out of the plan and in to a share certificate (or a dematerialised alternative)...
No idea, but (tragically defunct) The Besties captured the hearts of pretty much every member of the audience when they played over here a few years back. Lovely people, wonderful songs, and all of them ridiculously attractive.
*sigh*
Apropros of nothing, this is 110 seconds of absolutely bloody wonderful, surf-ish, indiepop goodness which brightened up an otherwise dreary walk home magnificently.
I just went and 'named my price' to download both of their releases from Bandcamp - bloody lovely stuff and thanks for the tip.
I subscribed to the first wiaiwya singles club, but I couldn't afford to this year. Next year's is a set of 7 picture discs, so may well be tempted back again.
Looking forward to checking them out when I get home, I've not heard much of the newer NZ stuff. Always nice to see a song clocking in at 2 mins 11 secs.
Ha, I was there. Didn't they play two consecutive nights? I just remember being up the front with a mate and Nick Cave suddenly grabbing my mate's hair mid-song and screaming a couple of lines of lyrics straight in to his face. My mate was terrified, I was highly amused, but made sure I stepped...
Was it on this thread that we talked about Cassette Store Day? Can't remember, but I did end up buying this little beauty at the Art is Hard all-dayer late in August.
It's a great compilation, 36 tracks and definitely more killer than filler. A lot of the bands would sit happily on a noisier...
There's a lot of good stuff in that article and a lot of the reference points and bands mentioned are spot on, but this whole 'twee' thing really really pisses me off.
Whilst there are a handful of people I know who (vaguely) fit that description, the vast majority are just regular folk who...
