On the contrary, and much as it's a horrible topic to contemplate, I think it is important to debate and discuss. Just like so many other things that people think they shouldn't debate for fear of upsetting someone or adding to someone's distress.
I too could probably fill a whole book with...
Currently - none.
My delightful daughter put it in the washing machine. It was a three or four year old Nokia. I never used it, only had it for the sake of the children in an emergency.
I have children and I 'blame' the parents,
Really, I think they put their children in a horrible situation regardless - abduction or not. I just can't imagine how that poor mother and father must feel, losing your child is hard enough to deal with, but to lose your child and know you were at...
Yeah thanks Tony.
Alongside everything mentioned here, thanks for the screwed up Rural Payments, the FAM disaster, Alun Michael and Margaret Beckett at DEFRA.
Can't actually think of many positives, the slight glimmer of hope of Milliband at Defra perhaps but that's not much for ten years...
That's so sad, my sister lives in America and someone their left their child in the car and she died. So sad :(
I hope the press conference is good news. I just can't imagine the torment her family must feel.
Nine, six and nine months.
I tried to write more but not sure how to word it, I have another daughter in between the two youngest who would be almost four. (2y 3m, 2y 4m and 3y2m age gaps between them) And ever since we'd had the first they have all gotten out of the car at places. I usually...
A police number in Hampshire (think it's only Hampshire) that you can call for crimes not quite so serious as murder, robbery - for things like anti social behaviour, noise nuisance etc.
Congratulations!
I am probably going to really embarrass my husband now but I'll carry on regardless -
We have always kept our anniversary presents to the 'theme'. For our first he made a 'pass the parcel' type thing for me. Only I didn't have to pass it and got to open each layer myself...
It doesn't. I have three and they all get out of the car at the petrol station, post office or wherever.
I dial 101 when I see children left in cars. I sat in the car park at Badger Farm Sainsburys and watched as I dialled 101 and the police arrived before the parent even made it out of...
I think we've gone the other way. The more we've used childcare (and I am talking nannies, day centres etc rather than the grandparents for babysitting!) the more * not sure what the word is (un-relaxed)* I have become. I am not sure if that is entirely the childcare situation or the other stuff...
I understand about casting the first stone, heck, like any parent I make mistakes with our children. I understand it was normal and what everyone did. I just cannot understand leaving a baby/child alone and going elsewhere to socialise. In your instance at Pontins or in Madeleine's parents case...
It's pretty sad that whatever values or ethics anyone held, it was 'normal' to possibly leave your baby screaming for up to 35 minutes before his/her need could be met.
I stay at home with our kids and most days there isn't much I wouldn't give to have half an hour alone to just shower in...
She's not someone you'd want to cross, but that might have been a slight exaggeration!
Hopefully I will have raised my children well enough for them to know you don't leave your children alone. Should my children do anything like that I'd have no hesitation in making that phone call to the...
