[Football] World Cup - Day Six

Yeah tricky one that - if you take the first shot he was in the keepers line (maybe thats enough). taking the flick from Pervis though, he's out the way.

was he though? seemed well out of the way to me

[Albion] Brighton & Hove Albion vs Aston Villa *** Official Match Thread ***

It was pretty poor from the officials all round - not just the refs either, and not just against us (although the Solly pen was oviously the most critical). One of the lino's gave us 2 corners we shouldn't have had which were blatant and only a few yards away from him.

[Albion] Brighton & Hove Albion vs Aston Villa *** Official Match Thread ***

Just got the team selection and subs wrong today, given the missing players. I think Lamptey looks good on the left and should have been slotted in for Mitoma. The sub should have been Veltman for Lallana with Gross taking Lallana's position. Still should've had at least a point. Never mind...

    [Football] England World Cup Squad

I can live with the rest of the squad - but Maguire? He was pretty poor at the peak of his form, but now? Just how?

    [Football] Marc Cucurella

Yeah as mentioned earlier - his job wasn't to watch the ball - it was to block the man and leave the zonal defending to others. It just reinforces the fact that the pundits have very little understanding of the game.

    [Football] Marc Cucurella

I thought that was totally unfair actually. These routines for defending corners are worked on in training. As we've seen in the past, Potter uses the short players (Maupay, Cucu etc) to block key players - their role isnt to defend, its purely to block. The defending is done by others. It...

[Finance] Legal advice - Divorced dad

Dont get legal advise - they will promise you the earth and then bleed you dry. I dont understand why you would necessarily need to pay for your daughter's accommodation if she's at uni. The 'normal' practice is for her to get a student loan to cover that.

    [Music] Favourite Country Song

I’d be a bit miffed if I’d wasted a decent bottle of whiskey and a fag on that ‘advise’

[Albion] Arrogant rivals during our skint years (but who's laughing now?)

Best not get too gloaty about it though... Long may our success continue, but it can all go pear-shaped quite quickly.

    [Albion] Highlight of today ?

Personal favourite was the "You can stick your f***ing money up your a*se" chant which came across loud and clear on the TV stream.

[Albion] Did anyone actually ask Graham for an apology?

That is a fabulous quote. Well done to that journo.

    [Help] Tyre advice

Well there are many things that keep you on the road. What about track rod ends, suspension joints, shock absorbers, steering rack, pinion, shaft and steering wheel? These one-liners are straight out of the ads cooked up by the branded tyre companies.

    [Help] Tyre advice

Throwing away a tyre with 4mm left is just a waste of money and environmentally unfriendly. It does depend really on whether its a pristine car and if you want to drive it to the limit, but if its an oldish car and you just pootle about in it, just replace the worn one.

We played the same way for 95 minutes with no change in tempo or tactics. If its still level at 75 minutes, you have to change something. Anything...

[Football] Ivan Toney racially abused [online, not by an Albion fan]

I do agree with Portlock here. If you are a famous person on social media you need to bear in mind that you are opening a communication channel to everyone in the world - not just the nice people.

Very impressed with how quickly RDZ is improving his English - he must be putting in a lot of work on that.

    [Albion] De Zerbi Thoughts?

I like the increased emphasis on attacking through the middle - its great to watch but does result in losing possession if the passes aren't crisp enough. The attack with 3 successive back-heels so nearly came off. In my book, its a price worth paying.

Strange today - I don't ever remember a game where there are such polar opposite views of our performance.
