I give up. Same old rubbish. It's not that there's none available, it's there none available who will want to come here and are better than what we already have. In case you hadn't noticed we've had difficulty getting players for the left back position up until this season. It's even harder when...
Sounds promising. Hope he starts well and makes the breakthrough. Unlike some on here, I'm really pleased we're looking across Europe for promising young players. The academy might not pay off immediately but there players are worth a go and if a couple of Harper, Hambo, Bjordal and the ones...
What's more boring is fans moaning about the possibility of missing out on a striker even before we've missed out. The club never promised a striker. They're obviously working hard to get one but it's not easy as lots of clubs want them. If we miss out and go for the loan window (or even don't...
I think you really miss the point of all the criticism you get. Not many people questioned that a left back would have been good before the loan window shut. The club were linked with left backs so obviously were trying to bring one in. What annoys people is that you then seemed to be so happy...
Really pleased with this move. More experience and options in a position where we are strong in terms of first choice but maybe a little short of quality in terms of backup. Crofts is doing okay but there's always the worry about how much impact those two major injuries had on him. Towell is...
That was definitely not what was said when we signed him. I'm certain there was no mention of a youth loan. While there was a recall after 28 days, I understood that to refer to the short term loan up to January. Once the transfer window opened, it would be a half season loan with no recall...
No, I'm sure you're right. I didn't think it was ever a youth loan. Started off as an emergency loan, where a player can be recalled after 28 days, and now turned into a half season loan, where the player can only be recalled during the transfer window. So, from next Tuesday I'm pretty sure...
It's understandable in some ways though. It's a very tough league and a young player would need to be very good to get a chance. Having said that, he's played March quite a lot.
If you want proof as to why Hughton does it, look at Walton (although I realise goalkeeper is a bit different to most...
No they can't. It becomes a half season loan (so won't be a youth loan) and they won't be able to recall him after the transfer window shuts. That was clearly stated when we signed him.
Doesn't mean that. For one thing, we don't know how true this report is (and if it is true it could be from a couple of weeks ago). Secondly, even if we are looking at him, it could be as an option if others fall through. There's no suggestion he's our main target. Thirdly, there's still a week...
Agree with that. I think it's been a good transfer window already but signing a quality striker would make it a fantastic transfer window, and possibly be the difference between decent chance of top six and chance to push for top two.
Personally, I'd say neither. Best goal at the Amex, in my view, was Orlandi's against Blackpool where he and Lopez combined and he curled past the keeper with the outside of his foot. Both the other two were great though!
He was at Fulham longer than us but I agree it is hard to believe he would choose them. Only possible reasons are more chance of first team football at Fulham (although he'd certainly get game time here) and that he wants to go back to Fulham. It is unlikely to be money due to Fulham's embargo.
To be honest, I missed the initial part of your post until I replied so I appreciate that. But, I think it is harsh to express disappointment and it is important to distant the two factors.
Yes, I agree we need a striker, although I'm hopeful that Wilson will score a fair amount in the second...
He looked great yesterday. There's been a lot made of the striker, and hopefully we will get one, but I honestly think the signing of Knockaert could be the difference. He looks excellent value for the £2 million we supposedly paid for him.
But the two aren't mutually exclusive. I doubt we're choosing one or the other. If we get Sidwell and no striker, it may well mean we tried for a striker but one wasn't available but separately got Sidwell to add to the squad.
Do you ever give up? It is so boring going on and on about the same thing. Maybe we should have bought all the left backs in the world in order to guarantee cover in that position.
I think you lack basic understanding of budgeting. The club have limited amount of money to spend. There was an...
