Ignoring the fact that Hughton said neither Zamora or Wilson were fit enough to start, when have we had a match in the bag by half time this season? We've only ever won by one goal all year with a full squad available so to say we'd have had the game in the bag by half time is odd.
What a ridiculous comment. There are many examples of players being fit enough to manage half an hour but not start the match. Wilson looked off the pace starting against Brentford and was clearly not 100%.
Sorry, who said anything about political correctness? You said it wasn't turning on our players. I said the thread title clearly is. Obviously you agree but don't want to admit you were wrong.
In terms of Hemed, he's certainly better than nowhere near good enough for Championship standard. He...
What a ridiculous comment. He made two changes, one due to injury and the other illness, last night. Previously, he made one change for Brentford due to Hunnemeier's injury, one change for Middlesbrough due to Dunk's suspension, one change against QPR due to March's injury. How does that relate...
Zamora and Hemed don't really work as a pair and Wilson was clearly not fit enough to start. After Brentford, where Stephens and Kayal were outnumbered and dominated in the first half and Crofts really improved things in the second half, it was a sensible decision from Hughton in my view with...
That's the point though. Most proper fans accept mistakes happen rather than slating players when they make an error on the pitch. The number of so called fans on here who spent last season slating Stockdale saying he was nowhere near good enough for us and some people, including me, said he was...
Completely agree. On another night we would have got a point, or even three if Zamora's shot goes in and we have the momentum. Considering the injury list, we played well and it was a mistake that cost us unfortunately. I'm not completely despondent either.
Not a kneejerk thread but you wait until we lose a couple of games to post it. Looking at this thread and others on here, I think a lot of our so called fans don't deserve promotion. When we have a couple of poor results, after a fantastic season, they turn on the players and the manager. It is...
Boro were excellent but they have the strength in depth and have spent a lot of money on this squad. They were able to rest four players midweek whereas we had the same team pretty much across all three games. We have had a really tough run and a long injury list so it's not surprising we have...
I really am going to give up now but as a final point it is one thing to not rate a player and another thing to dismiss his return from injury as it not being good news. It shows a vindictive side.
As I said, you clearly know more than Chris Hughton (who sees him in training and would have played him again at Burnley if it wasn't for his injury) so maybe you should be manager instead.
He was out for most of last season so not many games to go on but had a really good game at Reading, alongside Kayal and Stephens. This was an option Hughton said he would have gone for at Burnley if Crofts hadn't been injured but I'm sure you know better than Hughton. He's also done well off...
Fans didn't want him to go on loan in the first place so that's not relevant to them. It's hard to believe that two goals for us has changed Van Gaal's mind that Wilson is not the answer for them. It wouldn't reflect well on him if it did.
Showing your ignorance. Didn't have a great game in his first full game back against Preston but he and Ince had hardly played together before. In the other game he started in a three with Kayal and Stephens, he played well and he's done well off the bench too. No idea why you feel the need to...
What a pathetic comment. Firstly, when you have a long injury list, pretty much any player returning from injury is good news. Secondly, Crofts is a good option, our best backup if one of Stephens or Kayal got injured and gives us the option of 4-3-3 if we lose another winger or want to change...
Agree about Dunk yesterday. Thought he was great. Probably only Kayal and Stephens were better. However, having seen it a few times, I don't understand how anyone can think that handball one was a penalty. I'm not even sure it hit his arm but, if it does, it pretty close to his body and not...
