I'm a big fan of Gold, especially in the evenings, so devastated that their radio slot is going to become Smooth Radio, who have dinosaurs like Simon Bates.
It seems pointless to narrow the scope to 'smooth' songs. Gold had all this but had lively stuff too. Where else will I hear Slade!
There were loads of leftovers on Saturday, so i avoided the special last night.
That being said, a small outlet in WSU had no queue and the girl serving had nothing to do. They had sold out of pies so how come there's no supervisor to go and get extras from nearby outlets? Crazy.
Why have 3 wingers on the bench, surely they could never plan to use them all as subs? Asin so many games, we were crying out for width & pace so lets have a winger, or maybe 2, on from the start.
Three wingers on the bench, why? surely you wouldn't intend to use them all?
We have an obvious lack of pace so why not play a winger 1st half, let him cause havoc then use another in the 2nd half to cause another set of problems. Lua Lua, our game changer, was never going to come on today.
" No Country For Old Men" Highly recommended by a mate and I 'boxed' it. Started watching and fell asleep so scrolled back to last thing I could remember and it was just FOUR MINS into the film!
All in all, 3 times I tried to watch and 3 times I fell asleep. Gave up, which just proves it's no...
Slightly off topic and on the TV theme, electrical goods certainly have bucked the trend in inflation. I reckon most rented their sets, we certainly did, from Rediffusion, and we had a cable network way back then in the 60's.
I don't suppose he'll be a guest tomorrow? Would have been a nice gesture & he could see how far we (and Donny) have come and that there's hope for Argyle.
Johnny Haynes, an old maestro looking from a different era. hardly left the centre circle except to stroll to the edge of the box and score probably his last league goal, a low drive from a corner. Always had time, the young Fulham players played it to him and he'd ping long accurate passes all...
It was quite a cup run. Albion were mid div 3 and Portsmouth were lower Div 2 (but always getting the Southern TV coverage) so it was quite a coup to beat them 1-0 in the 1st round with, up to that time, the biggest crowd I'd been in of some 20,000.
Birmingham in round 2 looked a glamour tie...
Trouble is that the Prem league players are paid so much that veteran players seem to prefer to boost their pension funds than drop down the leagues.
I suppose Darren Anderton was one of the last to play at a lower level but, as you know, it was not so unusual in the old days. We had Bobby...
I gave up on away games shortly after the Amex came along. I do feel so much for those who spend their time and hard earned money and then see games where we never look like scoring (reminds me of away days when Mike Bailey was manager).
That great away support deserves more effort & ambition...
Had us playing some of the best football I'd seen in all my 46 years of watching Albion. There were games when we just outclassed the opposition who only seemed to gain possession at kick offs! Who can ever forget those back to back away games at Charlton & Peterborough?
Yep, it all ended in...
Having grown up at the Albion and worked his way through the pecking order with the likes of Oatway & Cullip, it's not easy to take that status into somewhere new and is bound to take time to blend with the new characters at City. He's a good player, a warrior, and will eventually win the crowd...
Whilst the season tickets are reserved it means that you cannot buy any seats that have a STH. Once that deadline is passed, they are open to anyone.
I had no problem getting extra seats next to my ST seat for the Reading game. Given the evening KO and live on the box, should be no problem...
