Not sure I'm sold on that argument.
Teams restarted last season on 17th June after about 10 weeks off. They played some friendlies beforehand. They then played a minimum of nine games ( some teams played 12-13 ) over about 6 weeks. A break of about 4 weeks ( although some clubs did play in this...
1) 18 games played so far.....7 home wins....11 away wins.....No draws.
2) 67 goals scored ( average almost 4 per game )
3) 3 goals or more have been scored 13 times in 18 games.
4) 14 players have already scored 2 goals or more.
Clearly, attack is winning over defence in quite a dramatic way...
Twin disasters?
Well Covid19 definitely is. It has wreaked untold damage on our economy, seen the demise of hundreds of thousands of businesses and will leave millions unemployed. The government has lent billions to business at low rates of interest and paid most of the wages for about 9m people...
I put Burnley in my bottom six before the season started.... with Fulham..WBA...Villa...Palace and Sheff Utd. I am now thinking that Villa ( after some impressive strengthening ) may improve and watching yesterday, Southampton may replace them. Palace have come out the blocks on fire...not sure...
One of the worst countries in the world for deaths, making wrong decision after wrong decision, poorly led, derided by many....the UK is a basket case.
UK deaths per million.....613
Sweden...lauded for their refusal to lockdown....an object lesson to many on how to deal with the virus.
Swedish...
He has a whole team around him. He takes guidance from the top scientific and medical people in the country. The same guidance that Starmer would get if he was in charge. Johnson very nearly died from Covid and has taken months to recover. To me, he is still struggling physically.
Of course we...
Of course you didn't see any BAME folk. Lewes is a quaint, quiet, white, middle class backwater. A town that time forgot. No vibrancy. No real relativity. It slumbers gently between the cosmopolitan and mixed-up madness of Brighton and the silver surfers of Eastbourne. If you want a taste of...
Six Chelsea players in the picture, pressing high on 4 BHA defenders. No room for error. The bigger clubs know how we play and are looking for the forward ball from Ryan ( which is the one that gets us in trouble every time ) They don't get touch tight, just close enough to make sure the...
You are rising to the bait. Take a deep breath and don't fall for it. The man is not long term unemployed. You are both at different ends of the political divide, disagree vehemently about Brexit, annoy and antagonise each other intensely and get hot under the collar at the slightest hint of...
Why would anyone not want to enter their country of choice ( for asylum ) through official/legal channels unless it was the uncertainty of being allowed to stay. So, we assume that the majority ( if not all ) entering this country illegally ( jump out on the shingle at Dungeness and disperse in...
Not sure whether you mean....its Chelsea...we never beat them ( which is true ) or....a more general.....its one of the big boys.....what do you expect. If its the latter, then I want to see us starting to pick up the odd surprise result against these teams, by limiting mistakes at the back and...
But those ' little drops in concentration ' are very familiar. We keep doing it over and over again in our last third. Playing out from the back requires accuracy and concentration and we keep letting ourselves down. The better sides have worked us out now. Just press high, close each man down...
It was a good performance in terms of going forward. Much less so defensively. Liverpool were off the pace. They lacked sharpness and would have dropped points against better, tighter teams. Ultimately, Leeds weren't good enough to take advantage. Leeds will score goals this season but they will...
Ok...ok...ok....you've all had your go about Churcill, over and over again. The man was clearly a force for bad and should be erased from our history. We've all had enough of the character assassination now. Its boring, banal, tedious and not very clever.
The longer people keep hiding behind the...
There is no holy grail, leaving or remaining. The EU is in a huge mess and so are we. Everyone should be in this shit together but they aren't. The larger institutions, corporations, multi-nationals, much of the public sector and many, many largely office based businesses have decided that they...
Please don't keep Ietting yourself down on this thread with the continued use of the word ' racist ' You aren't the only one. There are plenty on here who keep throwing it around as if it is a cheap insult. It isn't. It is probably one of the very worst things you could say to someone. It is...
