Yes, illegal crossings.........I note 4 individuals in Vietnam have been jailed today for their part in organising the “illegal emigration” of the 39 Vietnamese that died in the back of a lorry back in October 2019. Their sentences were between 2.5 years and 7.5 years.

The old man of one victim though spoke out at the harshness of the sentences, given that his son had willingly taken the risks to get into the UK illegally as the potential to improve his life financially outweighed the risk. This sentiment is quite enlightening in light of the standard pious mattress soakers’ narrative of terrified refugees fleeing the horror of living in the EU and or France.

This pretty much removes any sense of guilt the dampers should feel about deaths, merry Christmas!

People can apply for asylum once in the country however they've arrived, so this is an entirely irrelevant point.

It’s entirely relevant, these individuals from Vietnam specifically set out to enter the U.K. illegally. That was their choice, they paid (or bartered) Individuals to get them to Europe on then ultimately on the lorry. Caveat Emptor.......they’re dead as a result.

Those in fear of their lives in other parts of the world will likely claim asylum in their first civilised country or region as oppose leave it for to some racist bankrupt hellhole rum by fascists. Why would anyone leave the EU to come here? These people crossing the channel must be the entire remedial class of the 2020 generation of migrants.......we won’t get the cure from cancer with this lot.

Oh I see, so your issue was not with the legalities but with compassion for our fellow man. Got it.

If you want to compromise the rule of law for compassion fair enough, and it’s helpful to understand the motivation behind your sentiment.

I would certainly take the view that genuine asylum seekers should not lose out to those gaming the system.

The law should be directed to those that deserve compassion not criminals.

Why would anyone not want to enter their country of choice ( for asylum ) through official/legal channels unless it was the uncertainty of being allowed to stay. So, we assume that the majority ( if not all ) entering this country illegally ( jump out on the shingle at Dungeness and disperse in all directions ) are not confident of the validity of their visit.
By entering illegally, many remain persona non grata/under the radar. Not on the electoral register. Not paying Tax/NI. Working in the black economy or cash in hand. Many adopting false names and identities via criminal organisations who specialise in this sort of thing. No one has a grip on what is going on and its been getting easier and easier to slip into the UK unnoticed. We have a natural border, which, apparently, we can't police.

Most sensible people will agree with your statement , unfortunately theres a minority that find those actions acceptable and in some extreme case's actually encouraging it , homeless Brits and food bank users eat your heart out
