    This weeks Sunday roast thread.

The lamb was OK, will change the recipe next time and add a little more cumin and coriander, plus a little less water. It is a very good book, have cooked maybe ten of the curries, there is one made with lamb chops that has cumin fried potatoes that is a personal favourite.

    Orange Balls?

That brown ball would be fine if there was snow on the ground, but on a normal pitch and against an autumnal background it is difficult to see...what will it be like when a lot of pitches turn to mud in the middle of winter...great idea!

Do you think Newcastle hitting form affects......

Hard to know isn't it, if they keep doing well then he may be deemed surplus to requirements or not up to the job...but on the other hand, if he keeps playing well for us, there is a chance he could start appearing for them later in the season or if they suffer injuries. Like everything in...

    This weeks Sunday roast thread.

Recipe from a book called 50 great curries of India by Camellia Panjabi...sorry to say that the chapattis are shop bought, but were nearly homemade as Sainsbury had moved them and they took an age to find!

Don't really do roasts, little point when cooking for one...tonight I shall be having, palak gosht (Punjabi lamb with spinach) served with rice and chapattis...it is bubbling away nicely on the hop and filling the house with that lovely curry aroma!

Cardiff vs Swansea BBC One today at 1 pm.

Yes, as pointed out it could be a tasty game...there is a reasonable chance that one, or both, of these teams could find themselves in the Premiership next season. C'mon the Swans!

    Does Sussex Need a Flag?

...says someone who has an avatar of an East London football team...why should your view count on this matter! Oh, and the flag above with the golden martlets on a blue background, that would do for me!

The FA Cup 2nd Round Draw

Exactly...don't count your chickens, and all that!

    FC United of Manchester

I have never lived in Brighton, but did spend most of my childhood about twenty miles from there...though I would say that if you went maybe ten miles further west, to say Petworth, then it was probably more Pompey than anyone else. However, I did once work with someone from Tunbridge Wells and...

    FC United of Manchester

But when you take into consideration Greater Manchester and Salford, where Old Trafford is located, then I bet it is a fair bit more.

    Hardest ever Brighton player.

Exactly the first five that came into my head...add to that group Danny Wilson and Paul Dickov, both of whom were subtle and hard, and I reckon we are just about there.

A tribute to todays safe motor racing standards

Blimey, all bad crashes...the thing that occurred to me was how close some of the debris, particularly in the first crash, came to hitting the marshals and spectators. There is no doubt that motor racing is dangerous, not just for the drivers but also those who go along to watch.

Woking players travelling to Brighton are hit by a cement lorry

I want some concrete evidence that this isn't just fabrication!

    FC United of Manchester

Nope, my problem is generally with the fans of Man Utd...I can't honestly say that I have met one who wasn't largely an obnoxious twat and got on my nerves after a couple of minutes in their company (this includes one, who it transpired was from Barnet, who was taking the piss out of a young...

50 Office-Speak Phrases You Love To Hate

Talking of trees...one of the best talks I ever had from a manager included the following: "It is fine for a manager who is at the top of the tree, when they look down, all they can see is smiling faces looking up towards them...whereas those below, they look up and all they can see is...

    FC United of Manchester

Brighton fans didn't like what was going on and fought the board to the best of their ability...there is a big difference between the two clubs, our ground was sold from underneath us and the board pocketed the cash, leaving us homeless. Unless I have missed something here, the Glaziers...

The first loan player you can recall?

Pretty sure that is spot on, think they called him back to sell him.

Brighton and Hove Albion live on TV

That might have been Sheffield Wednesday...we definitely scored late in that game, but played really badly.

    FC United of Manchester

I thought that something like that had happened, they shouldn't have the nickname Wombles...it should be cuckoos!

The first loan player you can recall?

Definitely Martin Keown. Which got me wondering, how many loanees have ultimately signed for us on a permanent basis, even if they went back to their parent club first...two that come immediately to mind are Zamora and Whing...are there any others?
