I completely understand why footballers want to leave clubs and move on. Stephens has no connection with Brighton and he's being offered Premier League football and, presumably a pay increase, to go to Burnley.
It's just the way it's been handled. He signed a three and a half year deal with us...
Hopefully this is true. Having only Rosenior, Bong and Bruno (especially with how out of form Bong has been so far) would be dangerous. Also, unlike last November where it was just for 6 weeks, this is now for 4 months so further depth makes sense.
I agree re Ince. He looked great at first but has never gone on and become the player it seemed he would. It's a real shame. I thought he did okay last night but he's not the answer in central defence or central midfield. With him and JFC, I have a feeling we'll regret it when they move on...
Think you're being a bit harsh on Ince. He was mixed definitely but had good moments.
As for Manu, must be one of the most frustrating players I've ever seen play for us. He obviously has ability but he never rushes to get onside and his general starting position seems to be just goal side of...
Not seen him play but, from what I've heard, he's a class above Chicksen. One of the best left backs in League 1 last year as compared to Chicksen, who wasn't even a regular at MK Dons.
I'd be very pleased if we signed him and Dack. Exciting young players from the league below (like Goldson) as...
It's always hard to say though. Who would have thought at the start of December last year that Goldson would be undoubted first choice centre back at the end of the season but things change. With no loan window this year, we do need quality options who can come in and Hughton has shown that he's...
Agree. I think a ban is deserved for the comments (they are really bad) but the amount of time that has passed makes it difficult. However, if you commit a crime and change your life but then are arrested you will still be tried/convicted/imprisoned so why shouldn't Gray get a ban?
It makes you...
Maybe both. We know that we bid about £8 million for Pritchard and were still planning to buy a centre back so maybe it will be Dack and another attacking signing to give us more options.
Sunderland are after Mawson so he's more likely to go there than us and Martin is staying at Norwich. I thought Duffy did okay in the Euros but agree he's not worth £4 million
Not really. He clearly was injured pre season. Given that, if he was refusing to play, why not say he's injured again? Whatever you might think about the logic, I think the reason Hughton is giving is correct as you are unlikely to make it up
Big difference is we're short of defenders but not of midfielders. There seem to be a lot of people on here basically calling Chris Hughton a liar and questioning what he's been saying. It's sad the lack of trust they have in our manager
You have been waiting to criticise Stockdale for age, haven't you? I remember your constant harsh criticisms of Stockdale in his first season. You must have been gutted that he was so good last season
The first goal was poor defending but Stockdale was mainly at fault but to say he could have done anything about the second is ridiculously harsh. It was never a foul but we turned off defensively.
One season at this level having come straight from non league. Vardy struggled in his first season at this level too.
In fact, having looked it up, he got 5 goals in 29 games and in a Leicester team who were a lot better then than Millwall were two seasons ago
Of course it makes sense. We need another striker. All the insistence of signing a 20 goal striker ignores the fact we were top scorers last season with Hemed, Baldock, Zamora (7 goals - which we've more than replaced with Murray) and Wilson. Wilson got about 5 or 6 goals for us last season and...
So we might be signing a player (not confirmed yet and only one source) and he's already written off. Strikers do come up from lower leagues to do well and our current scouting team did okay with Goldson, who while admittedly a different position, had only played a couple of games at this level...
I really hate Reading. There's something about the fans and the club as a whole. Their fans abuse of Rosenior today, especially booing him when going off injured, was disgusting
Are you having a laugh or did I miss something? Are you saying Dunk should be dropped? One of our best two players this season? And Stockdale (one of our best players last season) and Skalak (who has setup numerous goals through his crossing)? If Hughton is pissing you off, you are not a fan...
Absolutely awful challenge. No attempt for the ball. Just wanted to take out Rosenior. Clear red.
Referee bottled it after earlier red card for Reading player
