Covid and lockdown has, if anything, made me more in love with the Albion.
Obviously the recent form is as frustrating as hell, but for someone like me who lives away from Sussex and hasn't seen family or home for over a year the Albion are a solid link to normailty, and those are more vital...
RIP Murray.
His voice was synonymous with F1 when I was growing up, and I remember his emotion when Damon Hill crossed the line to win the World Title.
A sad day.
I had a dream last night that we'll win 1-0 tomorrow thanks to Andone coming off the bench to score an 88th minute penalty.
Very unlikely of course, but just in case...
Two on the go at the moment:
- Byzantium: The Decline & Fall by John Julius Norwich (3rd part of a superb history trilogy on the Byzantine Empire)
- Sea Wolves by Tim Clayton (about the British submarine service in WWII)
I do the same with non-fiction - I'll read a passing mention or reference in a book that catches my attention for whatever reason, then end up disappearing down an online (usually starting with Wiki) black hole trying to find more about it.
Yes.
I currently have two books (one physical and one Kindle) on the go:
- Byzantium: The Decline & Fall by John Julius Norwich
- Sea Wolves by Tim Clayton
I mainly enjoy non-fiction, particularly history of various kinds, but I'll give most things a try.
I have to say I'm struggling a bit at the moment.
Neither my partner or I have seen any of our family since Xmas/New Year 2019 - we live in Northumberland, his family are in Derbyshire and mine in Sussex. He lost his Dad last April and wasn't able to attend the funeral or really grieve at all...
The Big Board has been much more than just football for at least the 15 years (god that's scary) that I've been around here, and I'm sure much longer beyond that.
In my opinion it's part of what makes NSC what it is, and changing it would be for the poorer.
Really shouldn't have to say it, but starting a thread encouraging people to publicly abuse Albion players is not on, however frustrated we might all be.
Have a short break.
