[Albion] Mercurial, majestic, magnificent Mitoma [20/10/23: New deal signed]

They do still dish them out In fact everyone now also gets a ‘legacy’ cap on their first appearance which has their own number much like the England cricket team have legacy numbers under the crest on their shirts.

    [Albion] Enock Mwepu (Retired 10/10/2022)

He played ‘ok’ I think. Didn’t do anything massively wrong and probably needs a run of games in the side to get up to speed but his passing and his movement didn’t seem as crisp and assured as he had the previous season. Probably expecting too much after very promising signs during Potter’s...

But more likely White’s t**t agent Alex Levack

    [Albion] Enock Mwepu (Retired 10/10/2022)

Well the hope he is realises he needs to kick on. Had lot of issues last season it seems and went backwards from the progress he made previously. Only signed a 4 year deal last summer so plenty of time for him to force his way back.

    [Albion] Maty Ryan

Hasn’t Ryan only got a year left on his contract ?

    [Albion] Joe Rodon

Agree with all of that apart from the recruit from within bit. I think if White goes we will bring in another CB

    [Albion] Loïc Badé

It might also be that we think .. Ostigard , Clarke or Van Hecke aren’t ready for the PL

[Albion] Danny Welbeck, should we? [18/10: we did - one year deal] - *** NEW ONE YEAR DEAL ***

No you are right. However I’ve only ever heard it applying to players who have been ‘released’ So I don’t know if the same applies if you have been offered a new contract and not signed it ? But it absolutely exists in some form.

[Albion] Danny Welbeck, should we? [18/10: we did - one year deal] - *** NEW ONE YEAR DEAL ***

I’m also of the thinking that if he hasn’t signed by July 1st we need to move on ourselves. Be great to have Danny back but he isn’t worth waiting all summer for, need clarity so we can make our own plans… otherwise we could have missed out on other players waiting for him

    [Football] Arsenal’s Ben White

I’m waiting for the inevitable meltdown of Arsenal fans when they meet the asking price and either City or Utd say thanks for doing our negotiating for us then match it and off he goes to Manchester.

With him choosing Fiorentina and Leicester now set to sign Daka… time to rekindle our interest in Edouard ?

    [Albion] Nicolás González

Can’t help thinking the ‘leak’ which was reported in the Guardian was done so by his agent to get Fiorentina to put up or shut up as was obviously his favored destination. Win some … lose some.

    [Albion] Nicolás González

I think I’m all honesty it’s the ONLY report so make of it what you will. Most of the other reports just seem to be repeating the same one source making the claim. Would have been a decent signing I think, but way the market works I suppose. On to the next one IF true.

    [Football] Arsenal’s Ben White

Some CB’s are going out the door this summer that’s for sure. Van Hecke and Ostigard both pushing for involvement in first team squad after their loans and have Clarke and Roberts returning as well as Duffy. Not sure all will be happy with loans again so might be a time to integrate or sell.

[Albion] Bloom: "Top 10... is a very realistic aim for next season"

I know we have, and it works for us and if we wanted top 10 in 3 or 4 years I don’t have an issue with it. However now the urgency means we need also players for the here and now as well as for in 2/3/4 seasons time.

[Albion] Bloom: "Top 10... is a very realistic aim for next season"

I think the frustration will come if no first team signings are made yet we spend another £15m plus on ‘ones for the future’ My main worry is come next season we have a weaker squad than we did at the end of the last and an expectation of a better finish from the chairman.

    [Albion] Boulaye Dia

That being the case Naylor was wrong. The player himself in an interview has discussed that we were interested but the issue was we only wanted a loan with a view to a permanent move and his current club wouldn’t loan him. Jeremy Smith who is a French football correspondent and a Brighton...
