Ridiculous. Why give an inexperienced young manager the job if you won't give him time. Just setting him up to fail. How many managers of a similar status have had instant success? To do that to a club legend is really unfair
Ha, no, his parents have separated and her new partner, whilst I think a decent player in his day, is an old dibbly dobbly bowler. Cornwall division 3 West is my limit:lol:
What on earth did he do that 'looked a worry'? That's ridiculous. Couldn't do anything about that goal, made a very good save from the free kick and his distribution was good. Other than that had bugger all to do.
There are some people that forget that he isn't just some kid out of the youth...
He sure is, four years ago or so was in the pub with a few of our cricket team after a match, got chatting about football, mentioned Brighton, and the wife of one of my teammates pipes up "oh my son plays for Brighton". Young Christian. So I've always kept an eye on him and had a soft spot for...
Were you thinking along these lines the start of the season : "would you be happy with Steele or either Walton or Sanchez (untested at this level) as our first choice if Ryan got injured"? I don't remember the angst then.
Would make sense with Biss, White, Propper, Gross and Mac all playing well, Moder coming in and Lallana to come back. Get some game time in Europe in his legs and join us in the summer
Short keeper like Ryan needs defenders like Duffy sitting deep to deal with crosses, and banks of defenders stopping quick breaks. It was set up for him to be solid under Hughton but more exposed under Potter
That's why the 'blimey, Arsenal?!' take is misguided, because they're one of the few clubs with stature able to get a decent experienced No 2 goalie like Ryan in.
We'd only get top value if we sold them on at or near their peak. I for one am rather glad we haven't been doing that.
In Ryan's case we'll be getting a loan fee from Arsenal that will likely be the equivalent of a transfer fee pro-rated for a 6 month contract, and his eventual sell- on value...
Ryan was great for us but with the higher line we need a bigger keeper. Simple as. And if we move on, we really move on. Ryan might even have been offered the beech spot but declined, we don't know.
What I'm fairly sure of is that if Sanchez gets injured Ryan will be back.
It's about numbers of deaths I guess, which makes sense. Although, these elderly are generally isolating and shielding anyway, if they vaccinated the active people they would slow spread and achieve same result in all likelihood.
If vaccine availability wasn't limited I'd set up vaccination...
He's being replaced by Karbo though. Who is also under 21 if I'm right, albeit irrelevant if there really is a restriction on foreign players regardless of age
