    Olives. Yay or nay?

Yes, but only really like decent black ones like kalamata, not over fond of the green or stuffed varieties.

Cats and what they leave behind

Let me guess, your neighbour has a yellow, blue and pink tabby!

Liverpool say top clubs should be able to sell their own foreign TV rights...

This idea seems driven by little other than greed and an unwillingness to share the money out a little more fairly.

Banned for life.. (Update: post #428)

This implies that it might come to an end at sometime in the future, just that the length of the exclusion has not been determined, otherwise it might say "permanent" or "life ban".

Lloyds Bank - Useless or what?

Sorry to hear so many negatives about Lloyds, I have been with them for over 25 years and have never had any problems whatsoever. The only bank I have any gripe with is ABN-AMRO, who took about a year to close my account with them, despite me giving them several weeks notice that I was leaving...

    Food heaven & food hell?

Heaven - Fish, cooked any way except deep-fried...BBQ mackerel is just awesome. Hell - McDonalds, largely flavourless and devoid of any serious nutritional value...just vile! That was really difficult as I love my food, not much that I won't eat although there are several things I have eaten...

    Favorite comedian

Ed Byrne, John Bishop and Jo Brand. ...edit, just realised that they all begin with 'B'...although Byrne, Bishop and Brand sounds like some sort of self-mutilation!

    Ross Kemp on gangs..

I like his presentational style, although many of the programmes are identical except for the locations it is still watchable tv. The one about the football gangs in Lodz was pretty scary, I wonder who slipped some backhanders to UEFA to get the Euro Champs into Poland, wouldn't want to be on...

    Wayne Rooney what a twat

During the game this evening I was trying to think how many England players are truly World class...the first I thought of was Ashley Cole...couldn't think of a second!

Population of West Sussex higher than Montenegro...

I'm not normally prone to pedantry, but Montenegro didn't achieve independance until 3 June 2006, which was a bit late to qualify for either of those tournaments.

    Wayne Rooney what a twat

You could counter that by asking what he would be like if he didn't play for Man Utd?

    Wayne Rooney what a twat

There is a side of his game that he doesn't seem able to suppress for long...that was it!

    John Vinicombe RIP

RIP Mr Vinicombe, a true gent and part of the Albion experience, I hope the club are well represented in paying the appropriate respects. Maybe a minute of applause before the next home game by way of a tribute.

    England highlights on terrestrial?

Pretty sure that there isn't, I don't have Sky Sports so I will be listening to this one on the radio.

    Hypothetical question?

If rugby was being played in my back garden I would close the curtains. Couldn't give a toss about egg-chasing...football first and foremost.

The one thing to see before you die.....

Agreed, top of Table Mountain in Cape Town takes some beating. I would like to see a volcanic eruption, heading off to Chile early next year so that is a distinct possibility, failing that I might have to take a trip to Iceland (the country, not the frozen food store).

South African Seagulls or anyone been to Cape Town.....

We stayed in a place called "the Seagull", by chance not choice, which was in Greenpoint (not far from the footy stadium) and only ten minutes walk from the Waterfront. It was very, very, basic...but we were on a hockey tour and only wanted somewhere safe to stay that was convenient for either...

South African Seagulls or anyone been to Cape Town.....

...even considering that it is one of the cheapest places I can remember to eat decent food. There is a fish restaurant there that rates as one of the poshest places I have eaten, most of the clientelle were suited and booted...we were on a hockey tour and wearing shorts, t-shirts and...

South African Seagulls or anyone been to Cape Town.....

Go to the district six museum, which tells of the history of appartheid, it is usually possible to do this as part of a tour. I love the aquarium, on the waterfront, still rates as one of the best places I have ever been on my travels...and that is in the face of some pretty serious...
